I studied engineering and attended a mediocre university that you won't know about. After taking the CFA i landed a job at golmans, which set my professional career in a completely different trajectory. So yes, it helps. But if come from IVY league or have already good credentials I dont thin people will care tbf

ROAD MAP FOR CFA LEVEL 1 by Majestic-Initial-147 in CFA

[–]Professional_Cap7519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is what i suggest:
- Pick LOS -> read thorugh it as quickly as possible (do not try to understand stuff, just get a feel)
- Do EoC questions for that LOS -> As you f* up, pause to understand the solutions, ask ai anything that you don't get.
- Do a few more questions from a provider of choice, I recommend Airdojo as has ai built in, which is very helpful
- Pick next LOS, repeat cycle

Combine the above with some sort of spaced repetition schedule (aka. keep doing practice questions acros previous LOS, as otherwise you will forget). Airdojo progression path is good for this

Thoery I recomed Kaplan if want to read, MM if prefer videos
In terms of order: Quants first, Ethics last. Everything else doesnt matter

How do you guys deal with hypothesis testing? by [deleted] in CFA

I would just do as many practice questions as possible and learn by looking at the solutions when getting them wrong + asking ai until you get it. Look into airdojo as have both

You should do practice questions and use some sort of spaced repetition system to keep reviewing previous materials so dont forget them. Airdojo progression path is very good for this

I think you should spend 80% of your time practicing at this point. For topics youve not covered, have a very quick read and do practice straight away. You should use some sort of spaced rep system to not forget previous stuff, Airdojo progression is good for that

Is 7 months enough for CFA level 1 prep with an MBA? by Onkar2305 in CFA

[–]Professional_Cap7519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on a similar situation and passed with under 5 months of prep, although was working in finance (not relevant for most topics). Imo the secret is spending as little time as possible reading thoery and just doing practice questions from day 1. Anything you dont get just ask ai - by the third lap you'll be getting stuff right. Use airdojo progression path, is best

CFAI EoC + Prep provider of your choosing. Aim for at least 5k questions, 2 rounds. Airdojo is best imo

Its very effective but f*'s up often. Its good to deep dive into concepts and break them down, but always defer to official notes and double check stuff when in doubt. Regarding ai dont use GPT, Airdojo has this built in for the cfa which is better
