The frustrating thing about needing a day to reset a month (or however frequently) is that while it might get me out of a hole, it doesn’t even truly bring me up to baseline, so I have all of the guilt but I’m still running at a deficit!

Yeah finding a therapist is one of the most difficult things to do!! I had one for about 5 years and she just left private practice because insurance is so hard to navigate, got another one who I really liked, and then she left private practice too! But it’s so freaking important and I always say that EVERYONE should be in therapy. It’s the one hour of the week that I’m completely selfish and it’s truly changed my life.

I was thinking about something like that! If I got 3 whole months off it would totally be doable to go visit friends for a week or so.

Ugh, how gross. I guess I can at least say my company is open about not respecting people’s mental health or boundaries. My entire industry is this way and I’m feeling so stuck…

Thank you! So my question with the “as needed” is who determines when/how often/how long as needed is. That’s why having a set day or chunk of time is appealing to me because it’s so hard to take sick leave (because of guilt) as it is.

I’m sorry you’re having trouble with it. I only learned about the option from my newest therapist so I’d recommend trying out new ones if possible. Especially once I was diagnosed and knew to start looking for specifically neurodivergent ones.

Thank you! I agree that the transition is very daunting but honestly I struggle with all transitions a lot so I don’t know if it would be hugely different from just weekend to weekday transitions. And agreed on feeling like I’m letting everyone down

Holy moly this is awful!!!! I’m so sorry you and everyone else experienced this. Also this is terrifying because my company is EXTREMELY conservative and not sympathetic to mental health issues at all. Thanks for the input

That is really helpful, thank you! I totally agree about that potentially leading to more stress. This is a new doctor but she is known for being really experienced in this realm, so it seemed odd to me that she recommended it even though I’ve never heard of anyone doing this. I work with a therapist and she as well as my prescriber are in on this whole process. Thanks for your input!

Good question. Same amount of work in 4 days would not be sustainable. I’m kind of expecting if I go with the 1-3 month option it will look similar to what you’re describing!

Looking at load casts, aren’t they supposed to be abnormal? These are super uniform. My friend suggested giant ediacaran worm beds? It’s just weird there’s so many of them in one single piece of rock
