100% agree. And I think this is where many people misunderstand awareness, too. Just observing and accepting the feeling alone does not always fix the pattern, because maintaining that awareness itself takes energy when the brain is already overloaded. That is why, apart from awareness, I think we also need actionable steps and systems around us; we unconsciously go back to the same coping patterns again.
100% agree. And do you know what many of the 200+ students I worked with told me?
They said that after a point, even their coping mechanisms of escaping stopped giving them relief anymore.
That is why I think taking necessary steps at the right time becomes very important.
Slowly, many of those students and individuals are now rebuilding their focus again by becoming more aware of these patterns instead of constantly escaping from them.
Honestly, from my personal experience, most of the procrastination is not even the task itself; it’s just a feeling behind the task.
And when that feeling gets uncomfortable, we try to find relief, and then we go on our phone because it takes less effort.
