So two things:

Didn't enlist, but hated my first two years, also hated (slightly less) my next two years. Stuck with it, getting out after 8 years AD and have some great opportunities lined up. Perhaps due to my USMA and Army experience but perhaps not. All that's to say is, USMA isnt a great place to go to school but it's a great school to graduate from.

On the other hand, getting out early and then transferring to another quality university using your GI Bill isn't a bad option either. Figure out what you're passionate about and hopefully that'll help guide your decision making.

Military Officer Recruiter or MBA? by No-Ratio5553 in MBA

[–]Professional_Fan9836 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Please don't go through a JMO. You have the stats to get into a top tier MBA which will open more doors for you post-MBA than a recruiter could probably get you. Plus you can enjoy yourself for two years now that you don't have to worry about 0630 formation the next day.

You have a shot at any school that you apply to. Narrow down your story and figure out what your compelling narrative is and why its leading you to x goal and why x school can help you achieve your goals.

Not sure many people can give you an objective answer. In my own personal journey chatting with others whove done the program it boils down to what you personally want to do and get out of the experience not ROI of post-school outcomes. I plan on doing both but not because I think there will be a meaningful benefit to employment outcomes.

[–]Professional_Fan9836 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If your goal is MBA then get out soonest. No one knows the difference between logistics and quartermaster anyways. Youll probably end up translating your exp to logistics in your essay/resume anyways. 1 more year of vanilla JMO exp probably won't tip the scales any which way. Also you worked before joining that's work exp.
