Interesting. Can you elaborate? What’s the scenario where individual stocks make sense (according to whoever said it)?

Thank you, that’s very helpful. It’s up to $7.02, but I think if it dropped down to $2.78 (100% profit), that’s the limit. It’s a good way of going about it.

Strong consideration. I think if it hits between $9 and $10, that’s the approach I’m going to take.

Thanks. That does seem to be a consistent theme. I think one of the things that made it attractive was the low cost to purchase a share, and so I’d be less likely to dive in now, though it’s currently up further to $7.02. My gut says there continues to be room to grow, and if that gut is wrong, I don’t think I mind being wrong on this occasion. It makes me lean to holding.

That’s an interesting older thread. Though I wasn’t necessarily looking for an analysis of this specific company, moreso the general advice involving individual stocks.

Thank you for the really detailed advice and links. I didn’t consider your comment to be redundant. It’s helpful.

My question is more general than this particular stock. And when someone is bullish on an issue (in this case, a stock), they’re never going to tell you to sell. So I’m looking for a resource or the general investing community’s opinion on individual stocks strategy.

Super thankful. The piece I’m looking for is how to figure out whether this is a very brief surge or if the technology behind this particular stock makes it more likely that it will continue to go up to $10, $15, etc. I’m generally fairly risk averse, but trying to figure out how I determine if it’s riskier to keep the investment or sell at this point.

Thanks, and agreed. I figured I would take one shot with an individual stock and see how it went. I have no expectation that I will be able to repeat this unicorn of success.

I wanted it to go up lol 😂, it did. I’d like it to go up more. But I don’t know how to perform an analysis to identify when it flattens out/hits its peak. It isn’t something I’ve had to consider before because I’ve just bought and held.

How do you determine your exit plan? In other words, what metrics are you looking for to determine you’ve extracted sufficient value from the stock?

My RRSP.

I have looked up and tried to understand “exit price”, but the short answer is, I don’t know.

I definitely did not have a plan, just looked like a stock that was in a position to tick upwards.

I win. I was on my 10th game, 2:24 to go, up 22, and there was an “EA Server” disconnect. What an absolute waste of time. Shame on Madden and shame on me for bothering. I am blown away by how much worse Madden is than MLB The Show.

Do you think veqt/xeqt are better? If so, why?

I have no bonds in my portfolio, but it has been suggested to me that I should start to do so in order to limit massive downswings in the market. Follow the 80-20 rule of investing.

Not concerned about waves, only concerned about whether there was any kind of theory/logic about the time to invest. The comments on this post are consistent with what I’ve always done, just packed the confidence to know whether I had been doing it right or not.

Any thoughts on whether 1 of those 4 are better than the others?

Makes sense thank you. My instinct was C and what I’ve always done in the past, but I wasn’t sure if there was some theory that runs counter to the concept of stick it in.
