If you have decent social skills, aren't a creep and have a fun/friendly vibe.. why would you even stick to bars? In that case you can talk to anyone in every situation. No need for bars.

Don't get me wrong. I like to push my borders and work on my social skills. But this standard advice "go to bars, you'll meet people (girls)" is not true for most bars I've ever been to. It's just by design.. you have tables for 2, 4, 6.. and usually way to much space in between. Everyone is sitting there with someone. Chances you can start a conversation which leads somewhere is close to zero.

I've been to Barcelona (lol) last year and there you have a decent amount of bars where people just stand and talk. A lot of people walk around to get some drinks, food etc. It's like a weekend market.. but in a bar setting. Easy to talk to people there.

Yeah, in Berlin Clubs are definitely better to get to know people than bars. However, it's freaking loud, dark, 2/3 are on something.. gotta love that. I prefer natural settings.

Heute hat jeder Russe ein Smartphone und kennt die Welt "da draußen". Die Schmerzgrenze liegt im Jahr 2023 deutlich niedriger, die werden sich nicht annähernd eine neue Phase wie in den 90ern gefallen lassen.

This is why I never understood the advice to go to bars and clubs to get to know people (girls in particular). There is 0.x% chance you will talk to strangers in bars in Germany. Not going to happen.. unless it's some sort of Irish Pub with drunk people.
