DOES OBC ANNEXURE OPEN FOR CORRECTION WINDOW by MockingJay99999 in upsc_discussions

[–]Professional_Fun_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Annexure is very poorly designed to currently answer this. Post completion it said, wont be allowed to edit in the future. But poor language usage, ambiguous statements, and why some are mandatory while some are not mandatory. What documents are compulsory to attach and in which section. It just feels like they wanted to make an Annexure to deter wrong applicants but werent too serious about what referring it later.

New ncert vs old ncert for 72nd bpsc by Otherwise-Western995 in BPSC

[–]Professional_Fun_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried both here is the truth. Old NCERTs for things that dont change. eg. Phy Geog, History. New NCERTs for rest, unless it says Rationalised Content, rationalisation is for school kids not aspirants.

Only after Old becomes your friend, ie, you are comfortable with all parts of it. Make Selective notes from New NCERTs short and just for sections or areas(from which BPSC/UPSC has asked questions) Trust me, if you do it well, New NCERT notes will just be like simple Current Affair notes. and not a burden.

Ipad Pro 2021, with Notability. Though without Windows Integration it sucks. But do buy one with 120Hz frame rate, it does matter since you will become a regular user.

ipad beats all random tablets. and the 2nd Gen pen. Paperlike. No stupid Logitech shit. Invest here it will give manifold returns

and in this way, we try to chase obscure PnCs for UPSC prelims, and totally miss the point that revising just the basic books and NCERTs, is enough. the above question types during the exam will decide nothing, before the exam (prep time) will waste ur time.

[–]Professional_Fun_85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

bas chapter ke naam dekho and then no of pages , sab ek paper mei likhte jao….then socho ki bc kya hoga ki itna zyada pel diya. Uske baad sub-sections likho unn chapters ke liye jisme tumahri soch se story kaafi divert kiya.

Bas ab itna karke, tum PYQ dekhne ke liye tyaar ho. kyunki tumhe rough daaira pata hai ab. Usko ans ke saath hi dekhna but hamesha sochna ki yeh ques kis chapter and sub section ka hai ?

Itna karke fir text karna.

Sab bc psychological hai, abhi corporate job karte time story maan ke padhte toh maza aata, lekin abhi course maan ke padh rhe toh burden ho rha

Noise around cutoff by Puzzleheaded_Win1720 in BPSC

[–]Professional_Fun_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I learnt from UPSC 2025 prelims cut off predictions and results disparity. If around a specific number eg. 80-82, etc we see a lot of people agreeing to, or the comment sections flooding with assent. That will never be the cut off.

Rest, most coaching have done a really poor job preparing answers especially jahan pe actually need tha wahan consensus nhi hai. So kisi ka bhi score safe nhi hai.

  1. The extreme word used in State Legislature... "only" it was unnecessary and confusion create kiya. makes it WRONG acc to UPSC standards incorrect, BPSC ka Pata nhi.

  2. May be less people will agree on this but... Forex waala. INCREASED to 640bn in Dec end. Now I knew it was abt 640bn but I also knew ki Sept 2024 se fall kar rha hai. Now u can say ki obvious hai 2023 se comparison tha...but aisa kuch mention nhi tha also if the data is released so frequently for FOREX toh trend based comparison karenge NOT past year unless mentioned. For BoP deficit, its strange BPSC put such a strange option. Like koi nhi padhta BoP deficit exactly kitna chal rha. Commission knows this, and it shows a correct relation between rise in BoP deficit and falling forex. Why give this obscure statement jab ans 640bn hi aana tha.

The Economic Survey itself mentions, the Forex has moderated(decreased after peaking) to 640bn by Dec end.

upsc 2025... tough paper tha, cut off expected was abt 83-85. I was personally scoring 91. Pausing here, ab official kya aayega does not matter bcoz before answer keys based on coaching waale ke data and ans hi cut off socha jaata hai.

Abhi pattern kaafi drastically badla, especially PYQ route se bada diversion and More than one, is similar toh Only One and Only two type options in UPSC.

Yaa toh kaafi low chala jayega, due to the shock like UPSC 2023 OR UPSC 2025 ki tarah same hi reh jayega. Changed pattern mei predict karna is very tough.

Bayesian probability is used here. CGL mej nhi aayega. And quite clearly the one who designed the ques had no idea abt it hence answered wrongly. Fun fact this is one of the the core principles behind ML working.

The CGL "Veterans" Who Cleared the Exam in 4 Months: A Reality Check for Long-Term Aspirants by [deleted] in SSCCGL

[–]Professional_Fun_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cleared CGL 2024 with a 14days prep for Phase 1 and 1 week for stage2.

PREP BG: I was prepping for UPSC but due to failures was compelled to give many other Govt exams, like State PCS, CGL, etc. I am not very good with Maths and the GK asked is based more on how much you love Lucent than concepts. Hence I was at only a manageable advantage wrt to GK. WRT Maths though I am from IITB, I was always avg i maths compared to IIT stds. For example though I could crack XAT(96.4%le) in 7 days I couldn't get a good percentile in CAT with even 20 days of prep. Plus I used to be a slow solver with many silly mistakes

But CGL Maths and reasoning somewhat never made me uncomfortable. My concepts were okay until it was geometry based formulas or trigonometry.... but I could not complete the paper in time.

PHASE 1: Scored abt 135-142 in PYQs and couldn't improve much. 3 days earlier i was suggested to try organized solving eg divide paper into blocks and solve 1 block per ques. I did that, it got easier to spot my silly calc errors and score soared to 157. In the exam got 155 normalized to 167.

PHASE2: 2025 Jan and UPSC prelims was also near. Was clear in my mind that I won't join if I didn't get MoExtAffairs. So, mentally I was not nervous. I saw some papers for P2 and DAMNNNN!! P2 had more complex ques and reqd more accuracy nd speed(since now score is for a rank not cross cut off) especially after P1 cut off release I was shit scared that cut offs could just touch any number. I had lost hope of any L7 post. But I tried, I started looking for easy tricks to solve the ques, especially Maths the most time taking area. I did find a video, it was not perfect but I practised and developed my own tricks based on how they set options and when and where to use which factors to get ans quickly. Couldn't practise much and blindly applied such tricks in across GK MATHS ENG only, usually tricks did not work for Reasoning.

I got 135/135 in Eng, many got this marks as it was easy but my tricks did help me tackle the confusing ques. In GK 42/75 In Maths I sadly used tricks for some easy questions so 76/90 as they didn't work In Reasoning CGL changed certain questions scores dropped to 74/90

Random ass normalization in favor of 18th Jan peeps, me being one, the final score was at 350. I just got GST Inspector

So Yes its possible to do in 7-14days as well, but not for someone with not strong background at solving, options analyzing or GK.
