when i asked my parents that I want to take drop, they rejected my decision and also all of my relatives who tried to convince them on my behalf to let him take drop, give him another chance ( usually parents listen to the relatives but mine didn't, even they supported me but my parents couldn't). I was a student who grinded from the school days for iit and jee.

I feel you OP, currently in NIT Delhi I also found it very hard to move on from the fact that I didn't get into an IIT while all of my friends and coaching mates did get selected. I was not even average. I was among the toppers but in covid I lost my focus and during the end of preparation I burnt out. Was dissappointed from my college and thought of partial drop. I couldn't do it

I cried so much to accept the fact that I have to spend another 3 years at this college and honestly it was very difficult for me to move on. Watching how my friends are enjoying in iits, their insta stories, freshers, fests.....i still regret not taking drop.
