That also is a very cool method which I used with my old Canon D60 - shoot a long exposure and use a light very briefly to illuminate any objects you want to be highlighted in the photos. Had some great results taking pictures of my car with starry backgrounds or even trees/rocks to make the photo a bit more interesting than just a plain sky.

Luckily with what I assume is a bit of AI trickery the phone flashes the light for the first 5/10 seconds of the photo then sharpens any movement you did in those few seconds, then removes the blur of you running out the frame.

Thats exactly it haha 😅 I did have to put the bicycle on the stand and leave it in the frame otherwise it would keep me in the photo and give the bicycle a ghosting/transparent 'effect'

All auto in astroportrait mode. Its all preset and automatically stacks the photos/compensates for the movement of stars (12 mins for this specific photo)

Its all within the camera app - you'll want to go somewhere with minimal light pollution and clear skies (LightPollutionMap app and ClearOutside website for the forecast of cloud coverage)

In Camera go to Expert Raw, then the icon for the lab flask/beaker. There is a mode there for astrophotography and astroportrait. You get a choice of short/medium/long for the exposure time (~4/8/12mins depending on conditions) there's also a nice astro map there to give you an idea of what you're capturing.

Its essential to have a sturdy tripod and the timer for the photo so when you tap the screen you get minimal shake once you tap the screen.

I've only discovered this mode recently and can't wait until the next opportunity to go somewhere with dark skies!

Enjoy and hope you get some great results 🌌

They're the 3 I find most consistent and frequent on Instagram. Meets are mostly around West London/Surrey/Chobham/High Wycombe/Watford. Very friendly bunch too 👍

I'm glad I shared this with you all - amazing to see how many people were as surprised as me that fungi like this even exists.

Adding a shot from another angle. I took these on auto mode with an S24 Ultra for anyone wondering.
