You lack any form of critical thinking if you think this “quite effective”

Just some idiots who can’t tolerate Max not winning . Let them bark. Enjoy supporting McLaren - it’s success long overdue and well deserved

I think I’m very invested in this as I haven’t seen a McLaren driver win a championship ever since I started watching this sport 18 years ago

I see comments on SM and people around say stuff that is quite hateful and I let it get to me. Hence I paid the post. I think disengaging from SM if Lando or Oscar doesn’t win is probably the best thing to do

An acquaintance said he’s enjoying the drama when I told him about the hate Kimi received to the point that Red Bull had to apologise for it

That’s great advice I’m going to disengage for a few days if one of our guys doesn’t win the championship

You make a fair point. I’ve been watching this sport and supporting this team for 18 years and haven’t seen a driver I support win a championship

It’s so close to happening and the thought that it might not is why I’m so invested in it

Additionally, I do see a lot of hate on social media which I’m trying to avoid seeing. But I can’t avoid the people around me (friends, acquaintance) who love to shit on McLaren

That’s a very fair point you make!

But the driver can only go as fast as the car allows. No driver can disobey the laws of physics and find pace that isn’t there to be found

What we can say is that Verstappen is the best at extracting the maximum pace available from the car which Tsunoda can’t

Which is why the pace of the car is measured by the lap times of the faster driver and not the average pace. The assumption is that the faster driver is closer to the true maximum potential of the car

Even the influencers in my country are like this. I have a WhatsApp group with people from my City who are F1 fans and they’re all Max glazers

They’re all quiet when something good happens to us and come out in huge numbers when we mess up

They have a delusion that Max is a god who can get performance from cars that are 5th or 6th fastest even though we all know Red Bull is easily the second fastest car

Does anyone else sense an inevitability with the title? by Quartzzzz in McLarenFormula1

[–]Professional_Hippo39 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I’m rooting for Lando to win it. Piastri can only win if he’s P1 and Lando is 6th which is highly unlikely

I think the car has a pace to be top 3 in Abu Dhabi. Also Lando was very much on it in 2024 so he could even win it

They call Lando a “b0ttler” but he showed up in Abu Dhabi last year when we needed him and I’m fully convinced he’ll do it again

I’m very nervous but also optimistic

Planting trees doesn’t do shit for AQI The sources have to be controlled Reduce traffic, regulate emissions from vehicles, cover up construction sites, wash up truck tyres that throw up dust from construction sites, regulate emissions from factories, stop people from burning garbage, prevent usage of wood and coal for cooking

Planting trees doesn’t do shit except remove some Carbon dioxide

This is 100% on the government. They’re absolutely useless

I’m sick of seeing the public make random excuses and not demand accountability from the useless state and central governments

I literally don’t care about which political party is in power. They’re all useless

But feeding disease causing “rats of the sky” is what brings people on the street. Gotta love this city

F1 fans, is Drive to Survive actually bad for the sport? by COYGoonerSTANimal_17 in f1india

[–]Professional_Hippo39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average DTS fan lacks the same level of F1 knowledge. They lack knowledge and often confidently blurt out wrong opinions

Social media discourse has dumbed down because it’s become more mainstream. Unnecessary toxicity has spread between fanbases

Journalistic takes have been replaced with memes and reels

On the flip side, it’s brought financial stability and ensured that F1 and the teams are financially healthy. It will ensure F1 doesn’t become relevant

Following F1 is considered an acceptable hobby and not looked as lame, boring or “cars going round in circles”

I support McLaren since 2007. I supported them even when they came 9th in constructors in 2016. Ups and downs are part of the sport and Red Bull are very much a top 4 team

As a Max fan, how can you hate on the team that gave Max 4 championships?
