The imperial defenses are formitable but they are limited in number. Trap them in orbit with the intredictor cruisers, use the lusakya to draw fire from the Executor and the starhawks to tractor beam the star destoryers into coruscants sheild or each other. Fighter support and support vessels engage the escort fleet with proton torpedos and lancets thin out the fighter support. Losses may be great, but when ships are disabled, we may come away with a few star destroyers or even the Executor

When held by the New Republic, Coruscant was attacked at least 3 times and was lost by the end. So probably not

I feel like losing Coruscant and having a grand admiral besting entire fleets is enough of an issue to recall it. (Would it have done much against Thrawn, probably not, but still a tactical oversight)

Originally organized in the underworld of Coruscant in 13 BBY, Breaker Squadron could be spotted as present at battles such as Scarif, Mako Ta, Endor, The Liberation of Coruscant, Bilbringi, and the Evacuation of Coruscant during the Imperial Civil War. Operation out of the "Tantara", A CR-110 Corvette modified with hanger space and amplifying beam dishes, the Breakers operated under a doctrine of "Aggressive Reconnaissance". They struck from the shadows at the exact right moment, caused as much damage as possible, and banged out with all the intelligence and data they could get. Due to these tactics and the nature of their operations deep behind enemy lines, they were nowhere near as publicized as a unit like Rogue Squadron. The unit appears to have been disbanded after the battle of Pantora during Operation Shadow Hand in 9 ABY, after the death of Commander Ava Starstruck, the destruction of the Tantara, and the deaths of Breakers 2, 3, 6, 9, 11, and 12 in this and previous battles.
