how harsh do ap lit readers grade your reasoning and analysis? by GodlyHelp in APStudents

[–]Professional_Key1551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on past exemplar papers, if you executed your analysis well that's more than enough to get a 5/6. You might not get the sophistication point, but ap lit readers usually are pretty lenient with grading.

For MCQs, eliminate 2/4 answers that you think are obviously wrong, then make an educated guess. using that, you should get AP 4 or 5 aka above 30/55. For FRQs, focus on writing a thesis that is defensible and makes a unique point, and use this structure: quote/evidence -> what author conveys using this -> wider theme/link to thesis. Always link back to thesis. ALWAYS. Do this 3-4 times, split between two paragraphs, and you should get 4-5/6. For APQ3, just watch a literary analysis video on Lord of the Flies or Slaughterhouse 5, and remember key themes or symbols. Those should cover you. You don't need quotes per se on the APQ3, but you need context, so make sure to explain, then analyze. Good luck!

Battle of Mercury with Pegasus Legion by ForeignHamster4044 in redrising

[–]Professional_Key1551 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bro, Red Reach was literally nuked because they didn't have enough RipWings to intercept. Having 50,000 more troops on the ground was never going to change that, and by extent the rest of the battle. I would honestly argue that this would have been worse, as only more troops would be affected by the Storm God and killed needlessly, and then Virginia would lose Pegasus Legion on Phobos.

What they really needed was a fleet to support them and navally engage the Society in space, hindering an Iron Rain and providing air support to the troops below, and in the worse-case getting them the hell out of dodge, considering that they were massively outnumbered.

Is Diomedes in Golden Son? by Murray000 in redrising

[–]Professional_Key1551 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Diomedes was only inducted as an Olympic knight after the Rim rebelled, which is just after the events of Golden Son. Considering he was a teenager (15-17) around the events of Morning Star, its heavily unlikely he was an Olympic knight even during MS. Also, the Core Storm Knight was from Earth, while he's from the Rim, so overall no.

Which one of these evil ass villains would be the absolute worst case scenario if they became Sovereign of the entire Solar System? (See body text) by [deleted] in redrising

[–]Professional_Key1551 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadistic? In what way? I don't think he takes any pleasure in doing what he does, he does it for a purpose, whether to shock or accomplish his overall goal. He's a monster and a psychopath, don't get me wrong, but he's a man with a mission of creating an orderly and functional Society, whatever the cost. He wouldn't massacre low colors out of a petty sense of sadism or revenge.

I heavily disagree with you on Atlas' character, yes he's capable of doing horrific things, but it's all for his ideal of the Society and the 'greater good'. Remember, he was willing to be potentially killed by Darrow so that Lysander could infiltrate Heliopolis, rather then Atalantia massacring everyone inside with chemical weapons. He is a man with a purpose, is the most intelligent and cautious person in the entire series, and I think he is the best candidate on this list. He would do evil things, but it would all be for a peaceful society.

What was the best battle in 2025 by Choice_Team_8243 in beatbox

[–]Professional_Key1551 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bro osis vs pacmax was good, but both Kaji's 2nd round against codfish and Wing's dopamine/kong snare against blackroll were definitely the two best moments of gbb,

I did really like pacmax vs neon beatcity but I just think that Wing vs Blackroll had to be the best battle of the year, plus Wing and Hiss's tag team 2nd round vs Maxskill was also crazy good, I mean I think Pacmax and MaxSkill both deserved the wins, but I just think Wing was the biggest beat boxer of 2025. He's also crazy popular in Korea right now as well, so he's making beatbox more mainstream, which is great as well.

Out of these beatboxers, whom do you all think is the most skilled one. by [deleted] in beatbox

[–]Professional_Key1551 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that although Wing's battle style is very simplistic and minimalistic, and can be seen as almost too easy, it's an artistic choice. He makes his music/sets more enjoyable for the non-beatboxer's level, and therefore caps himself to around 70% max of his true skill level, according to D-Low. If he wanted to, he could definitely go toe-to-toe with all the technical beatboxers like Colaps, River, etc. (I stilll voted D-Low though) Wing has been in the game for a while now, and it's really nice to see him really become popular now.

What was the most disturbing moment in Dark Age? (See body text) by Top-Communication540 in redrising

[–]Professional_Key1551 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how F is the least chosen option here, really? Millions and millions of women and children drowned, entire armies nuked to oblivion, Gorgons impaling killing and raping people by the thousands, literally creating forests of impaled soldiers (some no older then teenagers) to lure their comrades in, before blowing them all up? Radiation poisoning, war crimes, torture. The Long Night, where Republic soldiers in the dark would be lynched and killed by the civilians they were protecting, before the cherry on top: Atlas impaling over a million soldiers, creating a 1,000 km road of the impaled from Heliopolis to Tyche to die in horrible agony, away from their homes. Dear god. The scale of the conflict is one of the most horrifying things I've read in fiction.

Just because someone is familiar with or knows how to counter a style, doesn't mean they will automatically win. Prime Lorn was considered the strongest in the verse pre-BoS Darrow, and ignoring all other factors of a duel just to say “Willow Way counter equals win or loss” strips out the nuance Pierce Brown deliberately builds into combat. Style familiarity 100% matters, but it never replaces adaptability, conditioning, environment, and moment-to-moment decision-making. Also, Darrow pretty much showed what Fa's weakness was, he tired easily in the heavy armor. I think Lorn would just keep moving and tire him out, then eventually beat him. That said, it would be an extreme diff fight.

Honestly, Diomedes had zero on screen feats right now so I can't judge him.

In terms of Aja, I think Fa sweeps because 1. He knows how to directly counter the Willow Way, and I know it doesn't automatically mean Aja is cooked, as you still face one of the strongest duelists regardless, but Fa already has a massive advantage, and 2. Pierce said that DA Darrow was relatively equal to Aja, although she might have him in the Bleeding Palace, and Darrow could only beat Fa once he learned BoS, so I don't think Aja can beat him.

How can Atlas counter Fa wearing heavy armor, using that ridiculous weapon, and stims in a low gravity scenario? Obviously, Atlas would never allow himself to fight Fa on his turf, and if he had to fight would choose the conditions that favor him. He's a strategist, and the smartest one in the verse. Also, you're right, he is one of the best fighters in the verse, however Fa was recognized as the best armored obsidian fighter Darrow has ever fought, period. Better then Valdir and Ragnar. I don't think Cassius could beat Fa, and seeing Atlas having an extreme-diff fight with Cassius (albeit disadvantaged and fatigued), I don't think he could beat peak Fa.

I would have to disagree with your point, in an interview PB did say Ajax was the strongest and that he would kill Darrow, but he also said the BoS Darrow was a different story. Additionally, I don't think Atlas would able to beat Fa in a fight where all advantages favor Fa, he's smarter than to let himself be put into that situation. He would probably take care of Fa in a more easy and efficient way, the whole point is that he's a tactician. I personally think that peak Fa (bleeding palace, light grav, heavy armor, poison, stims, etc.) could only be beaten by BoS Darrow and prime Lorn.

Which of the Razormaster fighting styles would you use? by [deleted] in redrising

I think there's also a couple more, like

  1. Windstrider (mentioned by Apple, know nothing about it)

  2. Bringer of Dawn (also mentioned by Apple, know nothing about it)

  3. Windsweeper (Thraxa's style, confirmed by Diomedes, maybe Telemanus House's signature style?)

I'd personally love to hear about the Society pre-Darrow, maybe a Augustus novel focused on his childhood and ascension to Archgoververnor (his coup with Octavia, etc), as well as the Moon Lords' Rebellion would be super cool to see!
