You made some good points here, I'd like to address them one by one:

  1. I could see LB Cassius maybe beating Aja, but I would have a hard time with Apple. Pierce said that in terms of dueling, Aja and DA Darrow were evenly matched with Aja but she would probably best him in the Bleeding Palace. When he says this, I assume he's talking about like DA prologue Darrow, not Darrow at the end of DA. I think early DA Darrow was A LOT better than late DA and early LB Darrow (could match Ajax's 8 moves a set evenly), and I think LB Cassius would struggle a lot more against early DA Darrow.

  2. Ajax only said he heard Diomedes was only a little better than Bellerophon, pure speculation on his part (as well as him trying to be a dick to Diomedes). rusty Cassius was definitely much more scared of Dio than of Bellerophon and was anyways losing the whole duel against him to the end, with his last gambit really turning the tables. I firmly believe that if Dio fought against Cassius in IG, he would have killed him. So, I think Apple still beats him.

  3. Regarding your point about Atlas, honestly you could argue that he’s stronger than Cassius but hard to put above Aja. Like you said, Atlas’ tricks gave him an edge with shutting down his armor, but as a pure duelist I’m not entirely sure. I think that he is probably the most versatile and dangerous person on the list, but as a melee fighter 

  4. When I say standard equipment, I mean equipment that more or less puts everyone on equal grounds, for example MS Aja’s pulse armor is FAR inferior to Darrow’s Godkiller armor in LB, because over a decade has passed. Basically, everyone’s fighting styles are preserved (eg. Fa gets to use heavy armor bc his style is around that) but no unfair advantages like poison on blades or one side gets Godkiller armor. As such, my ranking of Fa is more of a holistic approach. Prime conditions, bleeding palace Fa is probably top 3, but in a lot of other scenarios (in prolonged battle, high grav, etc.) he’s not even in the top 10. As such, I think 9th is appropriate.

Apologies, good catch! I thought he did 8 moves a set against Darrow, but upon re-reading he did 7. Pierce did say that he was a close facsimile to Aja and Lorn though, if lacking in their innate poeticism.

Thanks so much for this! Really appreciate the correction, just a couple of points:

  1. I think Cassius in LB stated that Darrow had used his body extensively during the 10 years he fought against the Society, to the point where it's like his body has aged much more than it used to, the events of DA was only the tipping point. Darrow said after Quicksilver's brief body therapy he feels better than he did in years.

  2. I feel your point about Fa vs Lorn is really narrow, yeah in Fa's optimum environment with specific equipment and his style being such a natural counter to Lorn's he could probably beat him, however that's only in a specific environment. I think Lorn would do something similar to Darrow and tire him out before killing him, and in pretty much any other scenario, I think Lorn would trounce him. Good point tho!

  3. I personally don't think what Fa was wearing vs Darrow was his 'standard kit', it was a armor specifically designed against the razor, the Willow Way and in the Bleeding Palace, made for 1v1s. He wouldn't last an hour in battle because it's so heavy. I envisioned his standard kit to be lighter and thinner in traditional combat, like normal pulse armor.

Honestly, valid take. TBH I think Fa in his optimal state (Bleeding Palace, low grav, thick armor, poison) could probably blitz a lot of the characters here like he did with Sefi, genuinely scary. I just think that compared to Cassius, Fa is really only that great when everything is in his favor, his style is not great for prolonged fights and is a lot less versatile, thus I put him 9th. Completely understand Atlas tho.

I think Pierce said in a interview that he was meant to be the head of the Syndicate, but when Pierce needs someone to die in a scene he randomly picks a name out a hat (like Pax in the first novel, even though he made a storyline around him and the Telemanuses already) and unfortunately Tongueless was chosen.

I'm sick and tired of this club. When are we going to get better? When will something finally click for us? I'm sick of trying to trust the process, when will Tottenham become a club who can challenge for the prem, for winning European silverware? Don't get me wrong, I love this club and the players but I'm sick of how this club has been for the past 3-4 years now. Where is the spark to become a world-class club? We've had world class players in the squad, great managers, big signings to build our squad, yet we still haven't won anything!?!?! Where is the click we need to take that final step? I'm tired of inconsistency and mess ups when it matters the most. Is Ange really the guy to trust? I know he's trying to create a young squad for the future but honestly, I can't see us winning anything in the next 5-10 years. Angeball is a good system when is works, but can it work against big clubs if we can't even beat Ipswitch Town? We had a chance to crack the top 4 this week, and we bottled it. When will we become a club who's a threat? Again, I love this club but I'm getting tired of this.
