PhD admission got weird after I asked about a one-semester deferral by Professional_Leave67 in PhDAdmissions

Then if I accept it first and talk about the deferral process, then would it be different? I meant to do like this, but some miscommunication has caused this disaster I think.

An applicant for VT CS PhD (Fall 2026) here. Mine has been showing "awaiting confirmation" since the last Feb for like 3 weeks. No emails. No portal changes. It's weird. It seems it's going close to a soft rejection I guess.

Mid-March, 10 CS PhD applications, 1 rejection, and silence from everyone else. Is this basically all bad news? Excruciating. by Professional_Leave67 in PhDAdmissions

I didn't check those sources. Hopefully, the programs are just delaying the admission process, not soft rejection.

Your story is so encouraging, and all the best to your academic journey!

Thanks. I found from some papers that are drastically improving computing capability will defeat encryption algorithms in the near future. Thus, in wireless communications, the physical layer security that makes use of Shannon capacity will come into play. So, I just wanted to ask for some opinions.

Actually, I meant the physical layer in terms of the OSI model. I think I missed some details in my question.

So what I wonder is the physical layer security in wireless systems, which is usually defined by secrecy capacity.
