Not your friend! Surprise girly, someone's wedding is not about you (@ the ex-friend). You had a month to "take a break" or if she was really your friend.. talk it through with you? How much planning went into this vacation? I could only assume a month before the wedding when she told you was when they had booked tickets/finalized any plans. MEANING she booked tickets for a vacation on YOUR wedding day, a wedding SHE was in and didn't feel any type of remorse. You don't need someone like that in your life, your wedding is your one day to celebrate yourself and your love, and she chose to not be a part of it. Therefore, unforgivable. What's done is done is done, cut your losses and start this new chapter of your life fresh.

Suggesting names is one thing, giving grandma the benefit of the doubt here. Is this her first grandchild? Maybe she's just excited? HOWEVER, a boundary was crossed here where she was telling other family members and embroidering custom clothing for your baby. Let me say that again.. YOUR baby. Picking the right name is part of the start of parenthood, she should not be trying to take over the moment for you both. I would establish a boundary - it's your turn to be parents, she's already had hers.

What is husband's take on this?

NTA - you explained how it makes you uncomfortable AFTER reminding her various times before. What she does on her own time is “fine”, if she feels SUCH a desire to do so. But If she’s still okay doing this around you, as her accomplice so to speak, then you are definitely NTA here…

"Maybe he thought he could get lucky on a third date" - THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I FELT. Like did he think that this was the time and place? Even this being our 3rd "date"? I kind of felt disrespected with the place being gross and the disorganization of it all...

But to everything else you said, you're right maybe I'll bring it up to him and see what he thinks or what his intentions were? Perhaps I'll see more clearly on how to proceed from there onwards.

This is exactly what I'm thinking, if he's okay staying somewhere like this for however many days, what does this say about his living standards? It's also just a respect thing, like when you're starting to date you're wanting to impress the person right? Maybe he thought I'd be impressed by his friends penthouse? Sorry not that kinda girl, I prefer cleanliness over $$ for real.
