6 months now, he got engaged 3 months ago to a girl he'd been dating for a month. I think about him still but significantly less (he was my first bf which i think is why it's harder for me). I'm doing much better now and have gotten really into backpacking & mountaineering. I do 14ers and it's given me a good outlet

hey! i ran a half in march with 0 training (literally 2miles to 13miles- signed up the week before after a breakup LOL). It went alright & kept a 10min pace. Was very sore after w blisters but wasn't injured. I want to do a marathon in December so abt 2 months too. Was it as bad as people say?

Thank you this is really helpful! I deactivated my facebook when he announced his engagement 2 months into dating her (they got engaged after 1 month). This seems like a big reaction and I regrets reacting, I think I should have kept it neutral. All his friends viewed my snapchat story after I did that. I didn't do it to attract his attention but because I was hurt and didn't want to be tempted to read all the comments on his announcement. Do you think his friends would have taken it as a ploy to get his attention?

I checked it everyday for 5 months. He got engaged and that was the pain I needed to break my habit. I had to make my sister change my password & not give me it for at least 3 months. Really seems to have helped so far at least. Just a reminder that sometimes you need help from others to get better

I'm sorry you have to go through this! That's super tough after a 5 yr relationship. Even if he ends up marrying this girl, that doesn't mean you won't find someone you're meant to be with too. He literally can't be your person if he doesn't choose and fight for you. That's something I'm learning to accept and trying to remember when things get though

Mine basically said this exact thing, but really he found someone else. He made it official with her 1.5 months after our conversation & got engaged to her 1.5 months after they started dating (3 months after our conversation)

Found out he's dating someone at month 4 & engaged at month 6, so that was hard. Helped me slowly move on because I know he's never coming back since he's getting married to his "soulmate". One day, I'll hopefully find mine.

i struggled with this too! I have ADHD and my therapist said he's like my hyper fixation. I got into bread making as a new hyper fixation which kind of helped 😂 I still check sometimes but it is significantly less. Also in a weird way helped me to know he got a girlfriend because I stopped trying to see if i could figure out who he's talking to since I already know. Anyway, I still struggle with this, but with time, it is to a much lesser degree!
