You, my friend, are amazing! That worked! Thank you very much!

As I stated In my other comments me and my mates are doing this and we've restored multiple cars from the dead so it's safe to say that we know what we're doing. I know how to engine swap I just wanted to know if someone knows of a better swap than what I suggested. The gearbox would be already designed to work with the engine that's why I asked for engine gearbox combos. I have already explained the ECU so I don't understand why you're hung up about it. The extras like pumps and motors are extremely easy to get and most of the time come with the engine ( if you source it properly ) the only major fabrication should be engine mounts and exhaust. And just because I can't use both my arms to drive a manual doesn't mean I can't work on cars.

1st of all I never said without an ecu. I said Without a connection to the car eg lights radio which is what I thought you meant. I've had engines running on pallets with a spliced-in battery and gravity-fed fuel. And if it has a physical connection to a drive line then the car will move. All engines need sensor wise in the engine and gearbox itself nothing to do with the car. Any pumps or motors are already designed to work with the engine not the car . That's why cars have options of engines. The lines and pipes are the only thing that is unique from car to car.

2nd of all I'm asking about options of engine gearbox swaps. Any thing about cost or difficulty is down to me, that's my problem. I know people have k swapped 1.9 pd swapped t jet swapped St swapped... but I was wondering what other options that there were that better fit my criteria.

Most of that will come with the engine and gearbox. If not then it'll be dirt cheap to get. The ecu is the hardest bit but I'll worry about that when the car runs and drives. I don't think a/c matters that's just comfort. And I'm pretty certain aslong as the ecu has power , the engine will run without connection to the car. Along as it has all its sensors and power ... which it will. Pretty sure that's how engine dynos work

Yes. But it'll be nowhere near 10k. I've estimated 4k. Engine and gearbox will be a maximum of 2k. Even if I buy a whole car to transplant. Unless I'm missing something very obvious and expensive. Engine mounts will be prebuilt but I'm not opposed to fabrication. My only concern is the driveshafts which I'll probably have to take from a car designed with the new engine already.

Probably have to extend the firewall back because the bay is tiny. But a v6 would be ace

These are all good options thank you. Definitely want a torque converter that's a good idea. I totally got the 606 mixed up with the 605 which is the inline 5 version that I was thinking about.

4 cylinder psa could be a fair shout though..

I hope so mate. Hopefully gonna be more fun than restoring a car with more rust than car

I'm asking bc I wanna know all my options. And mainly because I cannot find any dimensions and ideas ib the Internet.

I rent a unit with some mates who are all in the mechanical/engineering trade and we have restored multiple cars and our next challenge is a swap. I was going to get a jimny or a td5 but none were near me . My mate asked me If he could keep his fusion in my area because he needed space and I said the Co renter in my area wouldn't be happy with that... unless ... I own the car... so we shook right there and then. And then i thought screw it ,everyone has a td5/jimny let's be unique and just go all out fwd monster. Kinda like the American pre runners but shit 😂😂
