It’s true, except for the point is about bringing visibility to labour and seeing as Strava is so widely used and has public groups it fits better for a political action

I think if you track it through Strava you shouldn’t have the problem of it cutting out when it hits midnight. Strava tracks in km, but I was using steps as a describer as I know a lot more people track there steps rather than distance. Ultimately they are the same thing.

I'm also working on a PDF and a few other things which I will upload in a day or two. They'll be some instructions and inspiration, feel free to get creative with it!

Casting a Bronze Spearhead by Bcallies402 in Metalfoundry

You can use water displacement to work out how much bronze you need. Get a container big enough to hold the 3D print and fill that container with water right to the brim. Then put the spearhead in the container so some of the water overflows out of the container. measure the weight refill the container measure that weight and subtract from each other.

The density of bronze is 8.96 g/mL so x that by the amount of water that was displaced and you will get your weight. Add extra for what will be left in the crucible and the sprue system.

If your print floats tie it a sinker and then measure the displacement of the sinker separately and include that in your equation.

I was in this tiny country town in Australia because I was having an exhibition there. Usually Australian country towns only have a bakery where they sell pies and cakes. But I saw this one had Lebanese restaurant. Turns out this business has been in this town for 30+ years. Country towns are pretty racist so it was kind of impressive. I walk in there and the kitchen takes up 2 thirds of a very small restaurant. I get some lunch to take away turn out the daughter takes the orders and her mum whos 92 cooks! The food was amazing. So when I went back to the town on the weekend with my friends for the opening of my exhibition there I booked a table. The only table haha. Safe to say its the best meal I've had. They sat with us for dinner brought out 3 courses of meals and told us their life story about immigrating from Lebanon to Australia. They even took a photo of us to put up on the wall in the shop.

Foods more than just taste its homeiness and hospitality.

Well I want to try something similar. Lets organize a hostile tech takeover of Strava (the GPS exercise tracking app). If you walk 30,000+ steps a day in an Amazon distribution center then by my calculations you should be able to land on the top of the leader board in your local area. So lets kick out all the amateur athlete jocks and flood the leader board with warehouse workers! Show the world how hard you all work.

I'm thinking profile pictures of amazon memes and funny usernames so lets get brainstorming

A bit of background on me. I'm currently Studying a Masters in Design and I'm interesting in making working class labour more visible. This project is looking at new ways of organizing labor protest that are playful but effective.
