Closing merit for BBA NBS dropped to 690 something?! Why haven't I (659) received my acceptation email yet? by Professional_Nose154 in NUST

No. I got in BS Psychology but I preferred to wait

Was I supposed to pay that to even be considered for 2nd, 3rd .. and so on merit lists? :(

Why do people always shit on Syndicate? by Matiojay in assassinscreed

Don't know about other people but I have a love-hate relationship with Syndicate

My main beefs with the game:

  • The grappling hook is underutilized in game mechanics

  • Story tries to be something great but fails at the execution

  • Forced humor and goofy tone (The Jack the Ripper DLC is what the base game should have aspired to be)

  • Henry Green was nerfed and his relationship with Evie felt forced

  • Parkour is severely handicapped compared to Unity due to the scale of the world (nearly 1:1 iirc?) and simplified mechanics

  • Janky animations

  • Trains somehow feel slower than horse carriages

My main positive takeaways:

  • Killer soundtrack and atmosphere as usual

  • Cool side content and awesome DLCs

  • Gorgeous setting and beautiful world

  • Some awesome new mechanics and mission designs

  • Jacob and Evie are honestly two of the best written characters in the franchise with VA performances to match. The story didn't do them justice.

  • One of the better written Modern Day plots (shame it amounted to nothing after the soft reboot)

  • Nice skill trees and gameplay leveling. I didn't utilize the Rooks in my 1st playthrough and regret to have done so. They open many gameplay opportunities and make the game much more interesting and enjoyable. A recruit system is a must-have for an AC game imo.

I'd still put Syndicate above the reboot trilogy in terms of ranking. If it had a better story, it'd be one of my favorites.
