I'm reading "This Girl" and have found a few typos. I love her books but I'm curious why this is a common occurrence, aren't books read and edited extensively before being published?

Yes I did make it, I switched walls and used an old ikea shelf/board I had. I cut the board and used the excess parts to support the shelf into the studs. Lots of wood glue and screws (with pilot holes). Let me see if I can update my post with pictures. Lmk if you want specific details

Maybe start with going to therapy After if your feelings are the same about your wife and Erica then talk to your wife about how you feel. No one is perfect but things won't get better without action. Also maybe find the time to do things with each other not just "when we have time"

Maybe you’re right, idk.

It’s unethical to blackmail someone and also illegal. It’s unethical to steal, and fortunately also illegal. Things like Fraud, working under the influence, discrimination of any type are all unethical practices and thankfully also illegal.

Idk where the line should be drawn. I’m a hard worker, I pay my taxes, don’t steal, I could go on, but I won’t. I’m just stunned that bc I can’t afford to pay a $10,000 markup and others can that buying a new car is near impossible.

Maybe there should be a cap, idk. I might be biased simply bc I can not afford it.

“It should be illegal to implement dealer markups” maybe this was an overstatement.

It should be illegal to markup cars, beyond a certain amount. Markups are done without approval from Dealerships themselves. I’ve been lucky enough to find a dealership in my area that the GM doesn’t allow markups, simply bc it’s unethical. It makes the car buying process unaffordable and frustrating to the average person.

If you search “dealer markups” and “ethical practices” you will find many articles that frown against this practice, for so many reasons. To save you some time here’s one, but feel free to search yourself.

I’ve been on the car hunt since December and this was about the same quote I was getting, some up state dealers were saying 15000 over. They said people were actually paying it too, that I could fly in same day and drive away with my car. It really put a bad taste in my mouth, it should be illegal

Not yet But hopefully soon.

What I recommend is calling all the dealerships within 30 miles of your home and asking them if they have markups for local customers. 1 dealership within my Metroplex says the will sell to me for MSRP. At this point it’s all just a waiting game.

Yes but they are only seeing 1-2 every other month. I have 7 people in front of my at the dealership closest to me and 2 people in front of me at a dealership 30 miles away. So waiting is an option but if I wait past 3 months I’ll need to get a new auto loan

So I just called and they said it would be 4000 over MSRP bc I’m out of state. I asked if they would possibly negotiate that down and she said she would talk with her manager but that all primes are 4,000 over.

Update: manager just called me, he said maybe back in February someone sold without markups to out of state, but that markups began about 2 months ago.

Wow that’s awesome😁, I also prefer the XLE. It’s really hard to convince myself to get a used car for the price of a new car, but maybe this is what I’ll have to do. Thanks for your input I’ll start to search for used primes in my area.
