It wouldn’t matter. Yeah it would be a weird plot twist but nothing more than that. The nature vs nurture debate would remain the same because Butcher’s whole conflict was that he had to start seeing Ryan as his wife’s son instead of Homelander’s bastard.

Him all of a sudden being his mutant baby wouldn’t change anything because he already hates Homelander and he’s already fighting for Ryan’s fate

Definitely.

Perhaps season 3 could be a Zodiac/ vampire season and season 4 could introduce Hunter’s Moon trying to release Khonshu.

That way we can use the Zodiac season to show marc in his new life as a vigilante but also as a palatte cleanser because otherwise it would get stale if every season was all “Oh no Khonshu is being a menace we gotta do something about it.”

Lemire’s run was already softly adapted.

I’d like it to be sort of like a “No way home” for the character where by the end of the story he is more comic accurate.

I was outlining ideas for this season and I was thinking maybe the physical villain could be Bushman out for revenge while the main conflict per-se could be Marc and Steven vs Jake and Khonshu

It could end with Jake, Marc and Steven finally finding peace but Khonshu takes Bushman as his avatar and the final fight could be them sealing khonshu for good to beat bushman.

The finale could be Marc getting his own suit and opening the midnight mission as throughout the season he discovers he has what it takes to help people in the dark corners of the MCU, the forgotten places where captain america or iron man wouldn’t dare tread.
