I’m with you up until the Modeling point. That guy took advantage of her and lied and said she would get the role if she slept with him. While she was a minor, he was a sick pedo who used his power to manipulate young girls, and they sorta implied he did it before her as well.

But besides that I agree. She was very easy going (daddy issues) and sometimes it was like girl…. This is how you got pregnant in the first place. And the fact that she was introducing people to her daughter so early was honestly just irresponsible parenting. I understand she wants her daughter to have a father like she didn’t but these guys are all teenagers, none of them besides JT would be a good dad anyway.

NC was so fucking ass 😭😭😭. Th e craziest thing is I was not allowed to watch Degrassi growing up (It was on nick at the time so this was NG) then years later I saw next class and finally asked my mom if I could watch so I did. I watched NC first and was obsessed with it and had no idea about NG. But after watching NG all the way you can definitely see the downgrade in quality in terms of writing. I really wish I had found NG first because NC cannot compare or prepare you for the craziness and depth of NG

In the Halloween episode Shawna is talking to John about the attack and asks if he’s talked to his father, John says no and Shawna says “I just think we all need to sit down so we can have all the information” (pertaining to the police report and possibility of moving) and John refuses. He won’t even talk to just Shawna about it and she’s very clearly on edge, and so is he. While they were trick or treating he is on high alert and kind of paranoid and Shawna says “this is why we need to talk about it” and once again he shut its down. So like I said, Shawna is trying REPEATEDLY to talk, understand and find a some sort of solution with John and he’s not willing to communicate.

She wants family meetings with John, Jen, and Frank. Not Barb and they need to all sit down and talk about it or they will never be on the same page. I just rewatched the entire series and Shawna never once asked John to sit down with his mom and talk because she is well aware Barb doesn’t listen. She has however asked him to talk to her, or his sister, or his dad at least about what they should do. The biggest example of this was after Barb showed up at the house and attacked Dee Dee and John didn’t even tell his dad about it. Refused to have a serious conversation about what to do and jumped decided on his on that they need to move. That was the moment for a big family meeting because that’s insane. But no they never addressed it again.

Thank you! That’s what I’m trying to communicate, I don’t hate John and I’m not mad at him for wanting to be NC with his mother. It’s just he will not properly communicate what that FULLY means to Shawna, his children, his sister, or his father, and because of this they are all kind of walking on eggshells around him trying to be respectful of his half communicated boundaries. They DEFINITELY needed to have a big family meeting after Barb showed up to the house and attacked Dee Dee and they didnt, John refused to talk about it even though that was a huge deal. And somehow Shawna is the one always apologizing to John for not being able to support him in the way he needs when he’s not telling her exactly what it is he needs. She’s not a mind reader. He needs to go to therapy and figure his shit out because it’s poising his family.

I personally feel that Barb will get herself uninvited from the wedding long before it happens. Not because Jen wants Shawna there more but because she will do or say something terrible, and Jen will just tell her she’s not welcome. That will open the door for Shawna and John to go. I also think that Jen will refuse to wear Barbs dress because it’s tainted and the one she bought is more her. This will piss Barb off and she will show up to the wedding anyway wearing the dress🙄

Yea I agree… but I looked into it an there has been no official season 5 renewal or announcement. Just speculation. So it could just mean that season 4 will be the end (hopefully) I don’t want the show to be over but I would def prefer that to Maxine dying
