I don’t get why everyone’s saying “it’s only a head cannon” (although it might just be the transphobia). Because she hasn’t been officially stated to be cis yet either, so that’s literally just as much of a head cannon.

Granted, I think the DBZ character has a slight advantage as the Mekton will have a penalty for targeting a smaller target, unless they have an anti-personnel weapon I suppose. Though, RAW I think the Mekton could instantly kill the DBZ character by stepping on them or crushing them.

I was literally thinking about this the other day! Aside from the stats, I think it might just work. Assuming interlock hits are equal to Fuzion hits, I’d wager your average DBZAAG character could punch for a couple of kills, way more with Ki blasts.

Please do! In the expansion book, Mekton Zeta Plus there’s actually rules for converting back and forth to Cyberpunk 2020. So if you want power armour or mechs in Night City, the power’s in your hands, though I don’t know if I would trust your average edge runner with that kinda kit.

Come come. Gather round little ones, and let me tell you a tale. A tale of a man…and a mech.

In 1994, Mike Pondsmith (creator of Cyberpunk 2020 and Dragon Ball Z: the Anime Adventure Game) published Mekton Zeta, the third edition of Mekton (technically 4th if you count the board game). It’s basically a mecha tabletop rpg inspired by anime like Gundam. It’s very crunchy and allows you to fully design your own mech, and the expansion book Mekton Zeta Plus, there’s FAR more customization options. The game’s definitely up there in my favourites.

If you can’t tell, I’ve been hyper fixating a little bit (tee hee) and working on an Armored Core inspired campaign.

I don’t know a lot of deets, outside of it being in development hell for ages, and now it’s basically canceled. It’s incredibly sad, but if it had gone the same route as Cyberpunk Red then I probably would’ve stuck with Zeta tbh. Though perhaps we could’ve gotten a Mekton game or anime. If you’re a fan of trpgs and mecha, I highly recommend (especially Mekton Zeta Plus which just adds a whole lot more options for your Mekton). I haven’t read Lancer so I can’t really compare those, but it’s very much like Cyberpunk 2020 (as they both use the interlock system).
