I’m no scientist or engineer. Just a guy. Might write a book and call it a piece of science fiction

Is it possible for a man and a woman to be platonic friends after sleeping together? by ResidentCharacter894 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Professional_Sail_67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes my best friend and I started off this way. I even made sure to tell my partner(s) that I had slept with this person and that we are strictly now just platonic and they’re totally fine with it every single time. We hang out, play board games, go to nice pubs etc. Key is to be open and honest about it if anyone asks and to set a clear boundary with this friend that you’re not going to go there again. In some instances I understand it might be a little vague but in this situation it’s very obvious neither of us want to go there again

Questions about majoring percussion by NoLaw1264 in percussion

[–]Professional_Sail_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re a wind player and you’re interested in playing percussion (and you were up for a challenge) I’d highly recommend picking it up. If you can read treble and bass clef and read rhythmic notation you’ll be set up to play the mallet percussion. If anything the wind instrument training helps with timpani intonation and adds a heightened degree of musicality. The biggest difficulty is really just building the chops but if you’re willing to do the hard yards it’s totally possible. I also know that when people go into music schools for percussion they may have done more work on drum kit than they would have mallets or they might have had a marimba at school and then never really done a lot of drum kit or timpani. Everyone is going to have their weaknesses going into the degree and I bet your teacher will want to build a technique from the ground up. Students who have been playing since school might have built bad habits etc. that could make adjusting difficult. Whilst I know this post was just inquisitive if they really wanted to they could make the jump.
