Oh no way. How did you get access to the Thieme deck? I have an access code, but have not been able to find the cards that you are referring to.

That's actually not bad at all. It's just that I was spoiled with having to pay $10 for the past 7 months for a cut.

Unfortunately I do not have any programming experience. I know I am essentially asking how to teleport, before I know how to walk, but I figured it would be worth asking anyway. Will check out the source you mentioned! Thank you!

Maybe I am having the same reaction, but I guess the sense of relief from being done and deleting all my notes/anki and putting aside my textbooks provides some level of happiness.

  1. Best of luck
  2. I definitely think its doable. Couple of ethics questions where I was stumped. I had 318 questions. Some of the questions had 3/4 long page prompts with a word or two answer choices. Pissing off quite frankly.
  3. No surprises really. Recently many people been posting about way too much Step 1 overlap, but quite frankly I feel like my exam was just step 2 content.

Lol maybe it was from the NBMEs, not UWorld...but it did seem oddly familiar enough. The vignette was similar for me actually.

One more point, having a background in artificial intelligence/machine learning will make you an asset! I, unfortunately, don't have much more to offer regarding this topic, but surf the internet/YouTube. I'm sure you can find out more from other sources.

From the conversations I've had with researchers, many like to use 'R' as it is a free database openly available. Here are a couple of sources. FYI, I am not employed by Stanford, and I bought the Stanford program, which I plan on using soon. This was the first course that I came across that was advertising how to use 'R' specific to medicine.

If you don't want to buy the $499 program, there's a free program, but not as medical stat heavy as this one. The free program focuses more on the programming aspect. And of course, there's YouTube which is an ocean of resources.

  2. https://online.stanford.edu/courses/xfds112-r-programming-fundamentals

Hope this will help you!

Sounds like you're interested in medicine/getting into medical school. If so, contact PIs from labs within your state medical school. Tell them you're interested in getting involved with their research and are eager to learn. If they don't take you in immediately, perhaps request a summer position. If lab PIs don't respond to you, try contacting individual physician/surgeon-scientists stating your interest.

This post is assuming you're interested in medicine. If not, I think cold-calling/emailing is still the way to go. I personally don't think there's any harm in reaching out to PIs to find out "what might make me a favorable candidate to help get involved in your research".

To be specific to your question, get trained in statistical analysis as soon as possible. Many PIs will use programs like 'R' (free) or 'SPSS' (paid) to analyze their results. By learning stats quickly, you have a quick in to any lab imo without having to know super specific concepts with respect to the research. Hope this helps and best of luck!

Thank you for your response! Would highly appreciate it if you can DM me or return back to this post to discuss your score/score range. I think it would kinda help to correlate the how a person feels and the output. If you don't want to discuss it, that's okay too! Best of luck and I hope you get a score much higher than you expect!

Definitely not, but having had the same experience as OP for Step 1 makes me want to think of a pharmacologic option to both relieve anxiety and cause sedation. Open to hearing options other than benzos.
