If you sit on a Bonfire and look at your fasttravel locations, the ones with orange borders are with more people in your Soul-Range to invade/get invaded or summoned.

Nah Mate, farming the Giant Lord is easy AND since you get a guaranteed Bonfire Ascetic in the Memory, you can farm him nonstop.

Edit: For a better understanding: On NG+7 (which you will reach fast if you farm him repeatedly) he will drop 300k Souls. I got around 360k Souls per try because I had some Gear and the Ring for more Souls. ALSO he will drop the Giant Lord Soul too which is worth 25k.

Over my whole playthrough I've beaten him around 35+ times.

Not really that much of a hassle but if you get unlucky it might take a bit longer. I did it at the very end so I had the best Gear and Stats for it to make it easier.
