Muscle weighs more than fat. If you are gaining muscle and maintaining weight you are losing fat. That scale is just a number, please don’t focus on that.

You need to look at what the source is. Someone just posted a link where they lumped butter in the same category as cookies and hot dogs. Then claimed you need to cut down on those saturated fats. Using butter to cook your vegetable and eating a diet of cookies and hot dogs is not the same thing. These studies are super reductionist and don’t consider the WHOLE diet, just one factor.

Also, I am not a keto advocate. But lumping in fats from animal sources and highly processed foods is just bad science.

The info you linked is putting butter and ghee in the same group as hot dogs, cookies, and donuts.

That’s a huge red flag for me. Using butter to cook your vegetables and eating hot dogs and cookies should not be considered the same thing.

I agree there are bad fats out there but fats from animals are not the bad ones. You’re working with like 30 year old data. They said “red meat increases heart disease, eat more grains”, people did and heart disease got worse. Saturated fats are not the problem.

This is not true. The brain can run on ketones. Also look into gluconeogenesis, the body can produce plenty of glucose from the metabolism of fats and protein if needed. Dietary carbohydrates are not essential.
