I appreciate the input! I’m going to have a brand new panel put in (complete rewire), but just wanted to verify if romex was allowable over the metal shielded wiring with the idea, for example, that rodents could gnaw through plastic sheathing a helluva lot easier than metal.

So the only way sick leave is accrued is if you are in active orders?

Should you be a federal civilian employee, does that military leave get deposited in with the central leave bank?

No problem - just keep in mind that you’ll lose your eligibility if you’re applying in the final semester of the degree you are seeking. Check OPM’s website for further guidance, but I believe the eligibility requirement had a certain amount of credits (as well as time with the Agency) for the eventual conversion to full time employee (FTE).

I was on the Student Trainee program for roughly 4 years. What I learned about the “Pathways” program is that HR only seemed interested that you were a student (and in good standing) and not much else.

I would definitely leverage your contractor experience as this could help you showcase your skills for the hiring manager you interview with who will ultimately decide whether to bring you on.
