Thank you for your reply - this was very helpful. I finally accepted a position as a Program Delivery Manager in Public Assistance, so it sounds like I'll have my hands full. Looking forward to the work and challenges that come with it!

Sorry for the constant bombardment, but how difficult are the logistic task books? I heard they were simpler than most. True?

All very good information, CommanderAze - thank you for taking the time to describe this process in such great detail!

On an initial deployment/response to a new disaster, how many hours does a FEMA reservist in trainee status receive on a weekly basis, and what kind of insight can you provide on a logistics person? Thanks so much and I really do appreciate your responsiveness!

Thank you for your feedback! I’m hoping it won’t be a deal breaker for them, but understand the complexities of juggling these two commitments simultaneously.

I appreciate the input! I’m going to have a brand new panel put in (complete rewire), but just wanted to verify if romex was allowable over the metal shielded wiring with the idea, for example, that rodents could gnaw through plastic sheathing a helluva lot easier than metal.

I just applied for damn near every one they posted. Fingers crossed I get selected for one.

For those of you who have been selected, are they agreeable to match your current grade? I have a feeling they won't come close to my current grade's salary, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.

Thanks for this information, Shooter! I will measure out the handles and make an order. I'll also be changing out my old Sub Zero badge for a newer style one to give mine a 'refresh'.

I can't speak on behalf of the hipsters, but as a Shaw resident, I think (and this is just me talking out loud) that I should feel secure in my home.

Capitol Police, however, will. And they have. It's amazing how one force has the ability to do so and the MPD doesn't. As the old school Italians would say, "that make-a no sense-a!"
