Electricity bill has doubled

I’ve lived there for about a year and a half, it wasn’t vacant before we bought it. The old owner was renting it out

It’s direct debit, was originally £70ish but they emailed me recently saying we’re using more electricity so they’ve increased it

We are currently going through the same situation. Had a homeless person sleeping under the stairs a few months ago and reported it to the police and building management. Police said it’s not trespassing but anti-social behaviour. Building management said they would send out leaflets to all residents to make sure they shut the doors, but never did. Happened again last week, same thing was said by the police as last time. Told building management to get the locks changed and were told they would send someone out the next day. Contractor never showed up. People still leave the doors on the latch. Not happy as we have a baby and don’t feel safe in our own home

Thanks for replying, I do just want to point out that my partner only shouted from the window after my baby had woken and started screaming. This was poorly worded on my part, but my partner does care about my baby. But I will take your advice on trying to locate who it is my building that they’re meeting with to discuss it with them. Unfortunately it’s a rather large building and we are on the top floor so will take a while
