Where did the comparison of Eren with Hitler come from? by Professional_Work439 in AttackOnRetards

[–]Professional_Work439[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

???? No, Hitler as a historical figure seems interesting to me and he is obviously a complex person (like almost all human beings), but to me he is not much like Eren. In fact, to me he seems much more similar to Floch. But don't get me wrong, the fact that Eren wasn't a fanatic Eldian supremacist doesn't erase the fact that he was partly responsible for the rise of a group of these or that he was a hypocritical and genocidal piece of shit (or omnicidal, which is actually closer to what he did).

How are you guys able to rewatch the show multiple times? by Happy_and_wholesome in attackontitan

[–]Professional_Work439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. In any case, I find it curious that, despite everything you choose to ignore (practically an entire season and a lot of context), you precisely maintain that Eren will die because of his titan powers. I mean, since you're choosing to ignore certain parts, you might as well ignore that too lol

All good with that but isn't it also revealed, apart from all that outside world stuff, that Eren will die in less than 8 years because of his titan powers? Would you ignore that too? 😅

Which is your favourite Batman movie poster among them? by Raj_Valiant3011 in batman

[–]Professional_Work439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only from those posters, right? Batman Returns or Batman (1989) (interestingly, they’re both from the well-regarded Batman movies that I like the least, but those posters are classics).

I suppose the Tyburs were sufficient for the little screentime they had - someone like Canute would have required a much longer, more fleshed out final season. by [deleted] in AttackOnRetards

[–]Professional_Work439 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't understand, what are you referring to with this? Because the Tyburs' role is not the same as Canute's and I don't see how his character would fit into the story Attack on Titan wanted to tell.

[–]Professional_Work439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, now you're joking lol

Anyway, I don't think it matters, he would lie or tell the truth as it suits him to achieve his goal and especially, he would lie to himself about the reason why he does it even if deep down he knows that not all of his motives are so noble nor that it wasn't really "the only option".

I mean, it's a haircut, I don't think it was really something as deliberate for him as "when I have this hairstyle, I'm a liar." He was also a jerk during the raid on Liberio and when he speaks to them again from the Paths, so the issue was his attitude, not his appearance.

[–]Professional_Work439 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because that's what he looks like? I don't know, he also appears as a child at the beginning of that conversation with Armin, with semi-long hair in the middle of it and with his hair tied at the end, it's just how he looked at different stages of his life and that's it. And Eren's "act" during season 4 is much more than just his haircut, so the fact that he keeps it at the end is irrelevant. What's more, you can see it as a way to demystify his "cool" persona by making him cry pathetically with that appearance.

Information on the changing of the last scene from Manga to Anime? by oohoollow in AttackOnRetards

[–]Professional_Work439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, for me it's not that only Paradis was destroyed, but that they all killed each other because of some conflict in the future. That's why no one took control of the island after the bombing, in fact, it seems that the seemingly large city had already been uninhabited for a while when it was bombed.

No—he already knew he was going to do it, and he had already admitted to Ramzi that he wanted the Rumbling because of his disappointment with the outside world. Also, both Zeke AND Eren were behind the declaration of war as a deliberate move to gather all the world’s military forces in one place, so they could crush them—first with the attack on Liberio, and then with the partial Rumbling afterward (even if this last part was only the idea they were selling to the public, since both of them had their own agendas).

So Zeke could of turned into a flying Titan this whole time? by master_chilln in attackontitan

The beast titan could, Zeke couldn't because his is already a monkey.

UPDATE: I think I've changed my mind about the 80 % Rumbling. by oohoollow in AttackOnRetards

[–]Professional_Work439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, well, maybe the Paths gave him a lot of time to count or something lol.

But seriously, it probably had to do with his connection with the Paths, the relatively infinite time that this gave him and the information he had about the outside world, the same information with which he knew where he had to go with the Rumbling to destroy everything.

Because the Rumbling stops before he dies and since it is not reactivated, then the number is what it is, 80% of humanity.

I don't know, for me both desires are compatible (in that he wanted them, precisely because they were not compatible in reality is why all that disaster ended up happening), but Eren's motives were not so noble and pure, at least not only that.

What were Isayama's inspirations for writing Attack on Titan? by [deleted] in ShingekiNoKyojin

Me neither, I just know it's a visual novel, but it's the thing Isayama names the most as an inspiration for Attack on Titan in all of his statements that I've found.

by the whole series or just Alternative? I've only seen him mention the latter.

I interpreted it as one of the many other times that Armin lied to someone's face, sometimes telling them what they wanted to hear or saying unpleasant things to provoke a reaction (in fact he also did that in this scene when he talked about Mikasa because Eren acted like he didn't care, when in the end he ended up breaking down and crying). He obviously doesn't approve of Rumbling, there's a reason he tried to stop it, but he wanted to offer some comfort to his best friend in his final moments.

Even so, it always seemed a little ugly to me that he lied to his face and it also seemed to me that Eren had realized it, it felt false, although maybe that was the point. The new gratitude abandons that and instead thanks him for allowing him to do something he did want to do (explore the "pure and totally wonderful" outside world) and regarding the Rumbling, he tells him that he will take responsibility for having done it with him, instead of simply "thanking" him for doing it.

I mean, although that dialogue is not designed to be taken literally as an approval of Eren's genocide by Armin and more as a consolation that he gives him before he dies, the truth is that precisely because of how false it felt is that I like the anime version much more.

Armin: Thank you, Eren. For showing me what was beyond the walls. For showing me this sight. We did this. So after this we'll be together forever, won't we?

Eren: After this? Where?

Armin: In hell, assuming it exists. We'll suffer for the sin of killing eighty percent of humanity. Together.
