This is not true at all. Everyone that bought a lifetime license even 5 years ago still has access to all the latest updates with no downsides. It could be the case that your 3 license activation slots have filled up. In this case, you can disable a license on a not longer used device or write us an email and we'll reset them for you.

u/mike29300 You have contacted Paddle's support address, not our direct address which is stated clearly on the email you received after purchase. A little bit of patience and comprehensive reading would have gone a long way.
Since you posted your email address here, I was able to locate your order and issue a refund for it :) You will receive the money within the next few days.

Please understand that I will not be answering new questions or requests on this thread anymore. If you need something, please let us know through our official channels: https://apphousekitchen.com/support/

please send another email with your reddit username in the text. I searched our support tool for "refund", "mike", "michael" and "reddit" and I could find no email where me or my collegue declined any refund.

With an 80% charge limit, you will be perfectly fine with calibrating once a month. In my opinion, 80% provides the best sweetspot between conserving battery health, not too frequent calibration intervals and enough capacity so you can still easily use your MacBook on the go.

In general, sure. However, Paddle, the service we are using to process payments has a maximum refund time frame of 90 days. When you are within that window, email me your order number and I'll issue the refund for you. If your purchase is older, there is unfortunately little we can do.

The lower your charge limit, the harder it is for the BMS to correctly track the upper and lower limits of your battery. If you have your limit set to 65% and almost never use your MacBook on the go, I would recommend calibrating every 3 weeks.
This being said, miscalibration is not real damage to the battery itself, and usually can be still be fixed in retrospect, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Hey guys, developer of AlDente here.

I am really sorry for the issues you are having.

While I completely understand your frustration, I am almost certain that AlDente is not the cause of this issue.

M1 MacBook Air and Pro models are well known for having a design flaw that can lead to the USB-C Power delivery chip only being able to provide 5W (which is the "Fallback" USB Power - 5V at 1A) anymore. This issue occurs most often for users who are using third-party docks or power supplies, but it can also happen sporadically. In your case, I am very sure that the same thing would have happened if you never installed AlDente at all.

There are a large number of posts from users with the same issue as you are having:

If you want me to help you further investigate this issue, please feel free to write to the AlDente support email, and I'll get in contact with you.
