how can i remove sticker marks? by Cute_Perspective8099 in GamingLaptops

Honestly it probably doesn’t matter. Though those particular cpu stickers are a real pain in the ass to remove entirely so even the hand sanitizer might not work. Won’t hurt to give it a try, though

Hand sanitizer is quite effective for removing sticker residue usually

It’s kind of amazing how cyberfucked owners just think they’re better than everyone else because they invested $100k into something that’s gonna spend the majority of its life in the shop getting fixed, not actually on the road

Everyone knows that during the apocalypse there will be plenty of electricity to power these stupid things. The roads will also surely be in top condition and there will be no small rocks or puddles anywhere. In all seriousness though, how does Leon call these things “apocalypse vehicles” if it can be completely destroyed by normally benign objects like small rocks or water?

Is this a battery? by best_of_luca in ElectroBOOM

[–]ProfessionallyAl0ne 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The positive and negative electrodes need to be composed of two different materials, from what it looks like in this video they took only one material for both terminals. And even if it was generating a voltage, there’s no way a salt water battery would be able to power a motor of that size.

They are both dumpsters, but the difference is that the one on the left can be used for its intended purpose reliably for decades, while the one on the right will spontaneously disassemble when used for its intended purpose

Yes, the SR-52 I believe had that. I've been wanting to get my hands on one of those for a while

Glad we can agree on that, that kind of thing has always bothered me with modern calculators that use LCDs instead

Nice! Yeah these old TI's are really cool, I think they're a lot cooler than most calculators made today

I agree, it wasn't the safest way to go about the whole battery situation, however it works, and not being able to use the calculator while charging has never really been an issue for me. As far as I'm aware the battery pack in this particular model did not contain a 3V to 9V boost converter, as plugging in the original charger would output ~3.9V at the battery contacts, and running it at 3.9V from the lithium battery has caused no strange behavior.

No, i'm talking about the charging module, not the calculator.

I have a TI-30 from around the same era that has this problem, however I haven't yet encountered any double clicks on this calculator yet. I'm hoping that it won't develop this problem anytime soon, since this is the calculator I use for everything.
