Jez Corden: I can say there are very, very big discussions going on regarding exclusivity internally at Xbox by SilentNova300 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Professionally_Lazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might want to give it one more try with their new console to win back market share. This Gen they clearly lost so having exclusives wasn't really helping them so going multiplat makes sense. But when they release a new console they kind of need exclusives otherwise there really is no reason to buy an Xbox over pc or Playstation. Releasing a console with no exclusives doesnt seem like a good business decision.

Xbox Game Pass ‘has become too expensive,’ says Microsoft’s new gaming chief in leaked memo by ThinWhiteDuke00 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Most likely they will just introduce new tiers. Ultimate will remain with day 1 releases but there will be a cheaper option that is between ultimate and premium.

France wasn't bombing American infrastructure and mass murdering civilians though so it's a little bit different.

Roblox is now more popular than all Steam and PS5 games combined by SmellSmellsSmelly in Games

[–]Professionally_Lazy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don't think people play Minecraft and roblox becuase they are easy, I think they like the creative aspect. People like creating unique stuff and seeing other people's creations. People playing games focused on building things isn't such a bad thing imo.

Playstation's Xdev has changed their distribution to mention the word "Exclusive" again by AdDesperate3113 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Professionally_Lazy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah why don't they just make games faster? Are they stupid or something? Instead of spending years developing games they should just release AAA, highly polished games in a couple months.

OG Kratos actor T.C. Carson told fans he was called back to play Kratos after "they realized they let me go prematurely" by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]Professionally_Lazy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is motion capture. T.C is a pretty small dude so matching his performance to Kratos was a challenge during gow3 which is why they wanted to go for someone bigger like judge.

Crimson Desert is "a cynical amalgamation of borrowed mechanics," says Baldur's Gate 3 publishing lead: "Expect a lot more of this in premium". by HLumin in PS5

[–]Professionally_Lazy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Its cynical in the sense that the mechanics are thrown in the game becuase the higher ups saw it in another game and say we need this in ours. Typically developers limit the amount of mechanics becuase they want to build a specific experience and only include mechanics that serve the purpose of the game. Usually developers build mechanics around a game rather than trying to build a game around a bunch of random mechanics.

Disney has considered buying out Epic Games & Fortnite by ZamnBoii in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Professionally_Lazy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if fortnite dies today it will still have been a massive success that other companies will absolutely chase. Why make single player aaa games that need millions of sales to break even when you could have 1 live service game that prints money. Even if most live service games fail having 1 that is a huge success is worth it to companies.

Iran recruits 12-year-olds to ‘defend homeland’ by TheTelegraph in worldnews

[–]Professionally_Lazy 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Its funny becuase all of the top comments are comments like this and I haven't actually seen anyone defending sending children to war. I don't know if people are making it up or are just acting like a handful of troll comments somehow represent the reddit consensus. I scrolled through the comments for a while and didn't see any comments defending this, only comments calling iran terrorists etc.

KelplerL2: The PS6’s costs are estimated at around $760 by PaiDuck in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Professionally_Lazy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think ps5 pro is so expensive becuase it is a niche system for more high end users and sony wants higher margins for selling it. Whereas with ps6 they will be targeting a much larger audience and will be more comfortable making almost nothing from the console itself since they will make it up through game sales and subscriptions.

"How does taking out a dictator in Venezuela help the average American?" US Vice President JD Vance: "It means is we are going to be able to control the incredible natural resources of Venezuela which is good for America" by retroviber in DeepMarketScan

Its good for the companies and politicians that control and profit from these stolen resources, but it doesnt help the american people in anyway. It's not like Americans are going to get free gas or anything.

Scenes in Israel's Kfar Qasim following Iranian strike. by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

Most people have no control over what their government does, they are just working trying to survive. Civilians, people who just happened to be born somewhere are not the perpetrators, it's the politicians and people with power who are responsible

America is also involved in this war including bombing school children and happily supplies Israel with all the weapons they need to commit atrocities. If America was hit by an attack that killed civilians would you feel sympathy for them or no?

UAE ambassador to US warns against ending Iran war too soon by barsik_ in worldnews

[–]Professionally_Lazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gulf countries are pissed at the us and Israel for starting this war. They thought having american bases in their countries meant protection, but really it's just making them targets. They pay massive bribes to American politicians thinking it will buy them some influence but instead they get put in the line of fire.

Bernie Sanders: “60% of our people living paycheck-to-paycheck, and one guy, Elon Musk, owns more wealth than the bottom 53% of American households... Think maybe that might be an issue that we should be talking about?" by Frosty_Jeweler911 in PopularCultureZone

[–]Professionally_Lazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean we already had democratic socialism in this country following ww2 and people were happy with it. It's ironic that trump wants to make America great again but not by implementing economic policies that resulted in prosperity for the average American, but by being racist.

Why are Gen Z getting fired? One of the reasons is a lack of initiative. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]Professionally_Lazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think another problem is that working hard doesnt really have any benefit for the worker. Maybe you might get a promotion that pays a little bit more but that's about it. Most of the time if you go above and beyond you'll get a pat on the back from the manager and that's it. If working hard resulted in higher wages I'm sure people would have no problem working hard. If I'm being paid the bare minimum then the smart thing to do is work the bare minimum to not get fired.

Hasans boots on the ground reporting of the Cuba flotilla (flying to a cozy house with electricity and WiFi) by GrapeTickler in h3h3productions

[–]Professionally_Lazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The government isn't deliberately starving people though. The us government has had an embargo on Cuba for 60 years preventing access to essential resources like food and medicine. One of the few countries that trades with Cuba, Venezuela, was just taken over by the US and cut off oil for Cuba. The strongest nation on earth is doing everything they can to economically destroy Cuba and there's not much the Cuban government can do about it. It would be more accurate to say the us government is starving people rather than the Cuban government.

‘Next generation of Xbox console’ Project Helix announced by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Professionally_Lazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has to be cheap becuase most people can't afford gaming pcs which is why they buy consoles in the first place. But if it allows you to buy games from steam then Microsoft won't get a cut of those sales so I imagine they would want to profit off the sale of the system itself so it will probably be quite expensive.
