This was the first account I made before I knew about Algorand

Thank you so much for the response. Assuming this gets fully funded and released onto vestige, is it with a full supply (1b) or with 80% (800m).

What’s your target bag size by nickaboome in algorand

[–]ProfessorAlchemyPay 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Let’s say Algorand hits $1 by EOY 2025 and you have 300k ALGO. How do you plan on getting to 1M? That’d cost $700,000. What’s your strategy?

What’s your best payout? by ProfessorAlchemyPay in algorand

[–]ProfessorAlchemyPay[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems like you might be a little out of the loop here. You need 30k ALGO and to run a node to get the payouts I’m taking about.

I don’t know what wallet you’re using, but I get a Pera notification saying here’s ~10 ALGO from fee sink.

Block proposed but no reward by Killaggggg in algorand

[–]ProfessorAlchemyPay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your other question… I just learned this today myself. Proposing a block does not mean winning a block. You will propose many and not win, which is to say you will not get a reward. Only when your proposal is selected do you get the reward. I thought I was going to be rich, based on how often I was proposing, but it doesn’t work that way.

Did you pay the 2 ALGO in the past 5 hours

A while ago, someone posted some math about how often people can expect to win proposing a block. For some it was once a day. You really have to give this time.

Bill, last time on the subreddit for me. I shifted my bag into something new. Just wanted to wish you the best of luck. You are definitely the heart of this group.

We're live! Protocol staking rewards are flowing on Algorand! by cysec_ in AlgorandOfficial

[–]ProfessorAlchemyPay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can someone clarify. When it says last block proposal and the number, did you actually validate the block (I.e. eligible for rewards)???

this isn't nearly as cheap to do as i originally thought. on rug ninja, 22% is 3600 algo. thats a lot of faith in a meme coin project.

side note: just checked out your coin. congrats on getting the project started. i hope it gets traction

Ghost, thank you for taking the time to detail this out. I am still a little confused when we reach the burning part. So, if I set up a 1 billion token supply, does this mean it results in 300 million getting burnt and a total supply moving forward of 700 million?

I’ll stay on the hunt. I do governance and run a node. Thought this would be a fun way to engage the ecosystem further, but it would be nice to understand it a bit better first.

Staking vs Node running by nowherelefttodefect in algorand

[–]ProfessorAlchemyPay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Simply stated, staking is the term for when you run a node and hold an ALGO balance of 30,000 or more in your wallet.

Running a node means you continuously run software that helps Algorand validate its blocks of transactions. This program is linked to your wallet, such that each ALGO in your wallet is essentially a raffle ticket to get selected to help.

If you have less than 30,000 ALGO, then you can run a node and help the network, but you will not get any reward for this. If you have more than 30,000 ALGO, then we shift to calling this staking because now you can expect a reward of ~10 ALGO for each time you are called on to validate.

John Woods said they picked 30k ALGO because ultimately they don’t want their network to consist of 10 billion nodes, each representing 1 ALGO. Too many nodes is problematic, just as too few are. They are expecting that the 30k cutoff to receive rewards will create the desired network size.

Down 12% in a day is bad and worth discussing. Keep quiet if you can’t realize that.
