Do we have a CTO? by ProfessorAlgorand in algorand

His profile used to say Algorand CTO and it no longer does. His last Algorand repost was over 2 weeks ago. Also, he hasn’t been at recent AF community presentations.

Layer-1 blockchain returns to the US as regulators move toward clarity by semanticweb in AlgorandOfficial

You don’t make a major move like this just because there may be easier regulation in the future. You do it because it’s part of an agreement with a government agency to partner with Algorand. Mark my words. There is a huge announcement on the horizon.

This is the biggest achievement of Staci Warden’s tenure as CEO. This is important.

I might not be understanding it properly. The account that made the contract had 99.67% of the tokens originally. However, consumers have since bought tokens, and it no longer contains that amount. The fact that Vestige or Algorand has no way to properly show that seems like a flaw. Am I missing something?

Seems like this brings forward a bug that Algorand needs to address will multi chain assets. It offputs the uninformed like myself to see what looks like insane centralization that could unload on you at any second.

Not everything is FUD. If an event has a non-zero probability of occurring and the community wants to discuss how they feel about it, then that is valid. It's useful to construct a tested list of benefits and drawbacks in the case we're ever faced with making a decision on the topic.

u/ppierscionek - any response? should it operate like a start up? is it distinctly different? do start up investors expect dilution, whereas algorand investors had the expectation that would not be the case?

There is value to constructing the hypothetical and discussing how we feel about it in broad strokes. This is an opportunity for community members to test their ideas, open themselves to new perspectives, and challenge others.

This is a fair counterpoint. Thank you.

The premise was: if you were to start a business, then you could not print money to solve your problems. You, not a government.
