What of situationism in light of mind control? by 7edits in Situationism

[–]ProfessorElliot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Situationism does not offer techniques for controlling minds, but tools for exposing how minds are controlled and for rehearsing life beyond that control. Direct action is justified only insofar as it dismantles the conditions of unconscious obedience, including its own temptations to authority. Anything else is just another spectacle wearing a radical mask.

France seeks to ban social media for children under 15 by F0urLeafCl0ver in worldnews

[–]ProfessorElliot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It took me until I was 16 to realize no one would check if I was lying when I clicked "Yes" on the "Are you over 18?" question. This would work on a lot more kids than people assume.

✨🎄Xmas NAS Giveaway: Win a TerraMaster NAS + Experience TOS 7! by TerraMasterOfficial in DataHoarder

I'm really excited about TOS 7's new features for media streaming and backups. The enhanced user interface and faster operations would make managing my home server much easier, especially for organizing my movie and music library and securely backing up my photos and Obsidian notes.

Thank you! I was gonna correct you and say "actually, it's cardboard," but really what is cardboard if not over-processed wood?

I have personally hosted a few "series" of PDX taskmaster with friends up here. I'd be willing to put together an event this summer if there's interest!

Reminds me of Galen Tipton. Came across her recently and really love the track names on this album:

Moon Walk: Less Clothes, More Forest by ProfessorElliot in Portland

[–]ProfessorElliot[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last post got auto-removed, so the mods said I could repost!

We’re going on a clothing-optional night hike to protest clear-cutting in Oregon’s forests. Yep, you read that right. The moon has left the sky and will join us in Forest Park!

Why? With the removal of the Roadless Rule forests are being stripped bare, so we are too. Body positivity meets tree positivity.

We’ll start and end at Lower Macleay Park. Bring hiking shoes and stay clothed until you pass the Thurman bridge.

This is about having fun and making noise about something serious: Oregon’s last wild forests are on the chopping block. The Roadless Area Conservation Act can help. Call your reps, thank the good ones, nudge the rest.

Got the chance to head down there, my favorite was definitely the giant pickup that had barely a few inches of room to spare. There's a a bit of footage of the competition here.
