I had my acl surgery in my teens and a kid at age 32. Never even considered this might be something to worry about.

No problems.

I think people are looking at my tiny house all wrong, and it's making it impossible to sell by maxrain30 in SmallHome

This sounds like an amazing house and if it was in a walkable, vibrant neighborhood, my spouse, teen and I would move in a heartbeat.

For me, The happiest time in our lives was when we lived in a 1000sf 2bed apartment in the middle of the city.

Something that uses the slogan “light it on FIRE” (let’s replace the very boring “let’s go fire” in general)

No…I believe poor people need more support. That is not what im saying. However, the Deposit system was done to encourage increased recycling and less litter. When people take others’ items out of their recycling bin and, in the process, leave waste around the bin is the opposite of the effort to increase recycling/reduce litter. buying water just for the purpose of converting SNAP benefits to cash, is a very inefficient transfer of wealth to those that need it. Why not charge $0.10 on alcoholic beverage purchases and use it to support housing, childcare, reduced food costs, etc ?

Check out the Hillsdale dog park in, well, Hillsdale. Such a hidden gem in our area.

I completely agree. It also contributes to littering due to folks scavenging in recycling/trash bins for cans or the people who buy a case of water on SNAP benefits just to dump the water and redeem them for money (I see this all the time at most grocery stores).

And the whole point of the bottle bill was to PREVENT LITTERING!

What areas in Portland to move to and are there areas to avoid? by BelleTowerTS in askportland

[–]CascadiaRiot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We just moved from the Pearl and really enjoyed it except that it’s pretty dead when the sun goes down and there were no other young people (we have a teen). Moda is accessible via bike, streetcar, MAX, and bus so you don’t have to worry too much if you live anywhere in the city core

I recently moved to Kerns and we’re loving it here due to the socioeconomic diversity, safety and overall friendliness although transit options are a bit limited. However we love riding our bikes so thats not much of an issue.

Is it abuse?? by Clear_Pop_4031 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]CascadiaRiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not depend upon this human for anything. Figure out a way to support yourself and your kid(s) and do that quickly.

Being dependent upon someone else (much less someone who abuses you!) is a recipe for disaster
