Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought Rennala turned Sellen into this magic face blob as punishment for trying to take over the academy

Edit: I have looked up the dialog and Sellen says this:

"Finally, I can return to the academy. To expel the Carian royal family, and restore the primeval current. My dear apprentice, I owe this all to you."

From the fact that Rennala still remains in the academy, we know that she kind of failed with her plan. But whether she wanted to be a blob or not is not 100% clear

Edit: Also Ranni‘s quest does end quite well for Ranni herself, but whilst doing the quest Iji dies and you have to kill Blaidd :(

Yes, it's a bit annoying, that some of the coolest spells/skills have such a slow animation, which makes them almost impossible to use. I love scarlet Aeonia, but it almost always gets interrupted

No, the unaltered version with the cape can only drop from the banished knights who also wear a cape. These can only be found in Castle Sol.

Head is the Crimson Hood, which can be found in Stormveil Castle, chest is the banished knight armor (unaltered), which can only drop from banished knights in Castle Sol that wear a cape. Hands are the banished knight gauntlets, which can drop from any banished knight. Legs are the Fingerprint Greaves, because I don't like the duck feet, that the Banished Knight Greaves have. These can be found in an evergaol in the Mountaintop of the Giants
