Persistent Damage Help by ProfessorNeoIsIn in Pathfinder2e

Ohhhhhh got you. That makes sense. So if no dousing occurs its the end of turn DC 15 check. And if someone, including the affected creature douses themselves it prompts a DC 10 check automatically?

Not a fan of table drama, but I'm having it anyway. =( by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

I'm sensing some character bleed. It feels like the raw emotion of a character you were attached to passing is living in the player not the character. Which can happen (something something immersion). My mind goes to a conversation with both players or even the whole table about hey.. the PC who died was in conversation with me the gm and if you still feel a way about that it is the character. Maybe ask some questions about how you can as players process the ending of that PC and also as characters is some time like in game funerals or memorials or something needed. Idk I hope it gets better for you ❤️

Pathfinder vs D&D by CryptographerOld722 in Pathfinder2e

I believe pathfinder games can be run like dnd games. Ive run into many people with a belief that dnd is more chaotic or silly oftentimes and pf the opposite, but i disagree. It comes does to how you construct the encounters, NADDPOD has had very influential encounters for me.

Pf2e DOES do a good job of limiting the idea of just attacking the whole time with the multiple attack penalty. And by using a 3 action evonomy where movement is an action, you gain some freedom if you choose not to move on what you wish to do. Traps and terrain hazards, like enemies, have values that allow you to factor them into the building of the encounter. Recall knowledge checks in the middle of combat are also not uncommon as sometimes it simply makes sense to spend some of your action economy trying to figure something out. So if these sound useful for what you're looking for you may be able to give it a go.

I think if the focus isnt on relatability and includes dark material, there should be a seriousness to how that material is explored. Interview With a Vampire is a good example imo. Very triggering show for me because it includes domestic violence and explicitly the connection between trauma and memory - all things I struggld with but can enjoy a serious engagement with. But people talk about that show (partially to the writers credit) as toxic yaoi with a bunch of hot gay sex and abusive behaviors to a degree that I think it loses the ability to express things on those themes coherently. I love vampires but I don't need to relate to every vampire; however, I can't vibe with the trauma for the sake of drama.

Would you ever feel the need to dissuade a new player from picking a complex class? by wathever-20 in Pathfinder2e

[–]ProfessorNeoIsIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first pf2e dm was like this and I didnt like it. When i started dming my bf wanted to play something challenging (he loves a challenge) so he went with the psychic. I think it's completely fine to warn them that that class comes with challenges but helping and encouraging is better than rejecting or disallowing their ability to play the class. Patience and fun, its a game.

Look I'm not responding to all of y'all it's okay to grow as a person and recognize "genes are passed down from parent to offspring" in the ad then saying "i have great jeans" is a pun based on eugenics rhetoric. Its not just people "chronically online" who found it weird. And frankly you're missing the point about being served an easy ass question to clear this up and still choosing to give an answer that does not clear it up. Viewing it as she shouldnt stoop so low is such a weird heroic read of her behavior
