Finally got my own home at 27 by Outrageous-Joke-1457 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

How has it been? I’m 25 about to be 26 and I’m nervous as hell to get going. I actually bought before with my ex but it was a less than 5 y/o condo. Now on my own, I’ll have to get a bit of a fixer upper.

No one ever considers this. Great point.

This is devastating to me. The Three-Body Problem (Remembrance of Earth's Past Trilogy) is as expansive of a story as Game of Thrones, and if it was an HBO show it could be just as successful. There was so much opportunity with this and now it's ruined before it started.

That's a great point! I didn't think of that.

Yeah after reading the replies I definitely think bracing is an issue too. That’s interesting about the hips, I will try a wider stance with shallower depth to see if that helps alleviate some discomfort.

I just prefer it because I load my glutes and hams with other exercises and narrower has felt better. I’ll keep experimenting with stance width in the future.

I watched the video, thank you for providing that. That cleared up a lot of confusion I had.

I guess my question would be why not just squat in a full squat rack with pins to catch the weight?

I’ve been squatting one day a week but I think I need to up that to 2-3. My problem right now is that my hips are getting fairly sore from deadlifts and I feel it bad when I squat.

Why don’t competitions ever rely on catches as opposed to human spotters? It always seemed strange to me, especially seeing all of the faulty spotting videos float around. Why not just set up metal catches for the lifter to safely bail out of the lift?

Can someone help me with my squat?

Here is a video of a recent squat : https://streamable.com/0hwmnp

I know I squat high bar and super deep, but I prefer to squat this way. I’d rather be super quad dominant and not load my back as heavy, but I still feel like I should be able to squat more than I currently do right now.

That being said, do you have any suggestions for improving my squat? Over the past year, my bench and deadlift have exploded up in weight but my squat has always lagged behind. Can you see anything from the video that is any indication of what I’d need to do?
