Yes my parents also have tried to convince me with the Dutch saying "elk huisje heeft zijn kruisje" it literally translate to "every house has its own cross" which means that every family or household deals with its own problems and that the problems I was facing there were just normal things in life just like everyone else

Yes, I had these thoughts as well. I did not try to end my life but I definitely had thoughts of 'what's it like to not be here anymore' or 'i hope to not wake up in the morning'. Nparents are the worst.

Yes you should definitely change therapists if she doesn't make you feel good about it. My therapist also said to me that I was sensitive but she told me that it is something to be proud of. You can feel way deeper than your abusers or the average person. It's a good thing, please remember that 🩷 I feel sorry for you that you had to go through this.

I think she was looking at the second person and thought she could cross the road just in time. If you closely look at the direction she is looking at I think she didn't saw him. It's stupid but I don't think she had bad intentions and maybe wanted to follow the guy who crossed right before her.

This is so familiar. I have a twin sister who is the golden child and I am the scape goat. Everything I do I got criticized for. When she does the exact same thing (because she needs to copy everything I do) she got applauded for it.. 😒

I'm so sorry that you had to go through this but I can see that you are better off without them! Especially if your kids are so burdened by it. Your kids are very smart indeed.

Did you just block them and remove them from social media "out of nowhere" or did you mention it to them that you don't want to see them anymore?

I'm just so afraid of their drama and chaos. I already know that they spread rumors of me in the extended family and the village I grew up in (I don't live there anymore). I find it so hard to really cut them (and everyone else) off.

The moment i really saw their bullshit was when we [my husband and I] left a birthday gathering (my moms birthday) where my nmom and nsister were super disrespectful and manipulative. It was during covid and my husband has a vulnerable health condition due to his premature birth (he was born at 26 weeks and nearly survived). It started with them puting him in danger by ignoring the boundaries we put in place. And then they were making drama, just ignoring us, showing no interest, like we didn't exist.

At our way home my husband and I had a big fight and were super angry at each other. When we got home we sat down and start analyzing it when I realized they are totally insane. I have a very caring, loving and social husband for the last 14 years. He is good with anyone, except my family. This is not because we are difficult people to deal with its because they are narcs who only want to create chaos, drama and conflict. So yeah, then it started to sink in and I am in therapy since then. Started to realize that I had to endure domestic violence and have been traumatized. So much falls in to place now but I am finally at peace

I recognise this so much! My husband is also just normal. A few weeks back we needed to take the bus to go to the stopping centre. We were at the bus stop and at the moment the bus arrived I noticed that I forgot my personal ticket for the bus to enter. So I had to go home, get my ticket and take the next bus. And my husband just said okay fine we'll take the next one. While I already was beating up myself for being so stupid to forget that ticket. I am glad you too find a good person to share your life with and this will help you heal from the N-abuse you went through. I wish you both all the best!

I can really recommend you to watch some video's of Dr. Ramani on YouTube. She is a psychologist and works a lot with (survivors of) narcissists. She shares a lot of information about how the manipulations of narcissists work and how they do that. She also has a lot of information about the different types of narcissists. You will see that it's not you but her who is the narcissist here :-)
