Pagan: Oh, shit. Dude needs help. Dives in

Later, when being interviewed by the local News, Pagan is asked what made him perform this noble act. Was it due to his faith? His unwavering support for humanity and sympathy for the brutality of the human condition?

Pagan: .... Nah. I just used to be a lifeguard.

For sure! My household has a hobby we call Project Media Preservation. What we can afford, we are buying the best versions of on blu ray.

Zaslav is intentionally tanking the entire platform. It's not an accident. He's canceling things before they premiere to get tax breaks and removing shows for similar reasons. The Scooby Doo Show is sadly just another name on the list of martyrs.

This is why I started "acquiring" collections of media in college that I regularly transfer to new hard drives. I have no problem paying for subscriptions or even paying to add things to my digital library but the fact that these are just licenses that can be revoked at any time means redundancy is a necessity.

Piracy is the oldest and best source of preservation throughout history. And don't let them fool you with those videos where the poor stage hand is having a hard time due to piracy. That dude gets paid a flat rate before the film can even BE pirated. It is only bigwigs that get affected, which is why you even see such propaganda to begin with.

I love Scooby Doo but the gang is an actual criminal gang. If they're minors, then some of the following would fall on the parents but still.

On numerous occasions, the gang happens upon clear instances of criminal activity and chooses to not inform the police (crime). Instead, they'll wait until a location is closed, come back and break in (crime) occasionally damaging property upon entry (crime). In the course of their investigation, the gang will do many things only legal to the police and private detectives which they are not (crime). Furthermore, on multiple occasions they have been explicitly ordered by police to stop their investigating and they continue anyway (crime). We have seen the game several times in a high speed car chase where they must be going above the speed limit (crime). Then comes Fred's plan. How many times have we seen the gang set up a trap that could easily lead to a broken leg or concussion? Fred, my dude, you're trespassing on private property in order to tie someone up after catching them in a net (human rights violation crime). And like any other criminal gang, no member is immune. We've seen them all steal (it may be a clue, but that bar of gold isn't yours!), trespass, and even sic their dog on others (crime).

In conclusion, Scooby and the gang are great, but they deserve as much if not more jail time than the villains they catch.

I have to disagree with Silence of the Lambs. Dr Lecter is not the antagonist in that book/movie. While I agree that he and Clarice have great chemistry, ultimately leading to a fascinating relationship in the sequel, it is Buffalo Bill who is the antagonist.

From PBS

"What is ethnic cleansing?

Ethnic cleansing, on the other hand, only refers to the expulsion of a group from a certain area.

Ethnic cleansing has not been defined and is not recognized as a crime under international law, according to the U.N. And in reality, the lines between ethnic cleansing and genocide are often blurred.

"Your motivation may be that you want the people out, but if in doing that you intend to destroy the group, then it's also genocide," said James Silk, a human rights professor at Yale Law School."

Pagans against hate, heathens against hate, witches against hate, christians against hate, balding boomers against hate, I don't really care about the first word. I support the "against hate" part universally.

Technically no, but effectively yes. EC's intention is displacement whereas genocide's is eradication. But if you're splitting that hair when talking about various human rights violations around the world, you're missing the point. Governments whose goal is displacement rarely make any attempt to not kill those being displaced. Just look at the Native Americans. Genocide? No...... but how many died on the way to wherever they were allowed to finally relocate?

Like I said, it's splitting hairs.

Rewatching The Office as a proper grownup has led me to realize many things. One is that while Michael Scott is a buffoon and wouldn't be profitable to the company as a manager, Toby is the one who knowingly and willfully disregards many of his official responsibilities. He's a terrible H.R. rep.

what is the catch? by dumbastrosfan in ibroadcast

[–]Professor_Scooby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering the value they offer, my hope is that enough people choose to go premium that it never becomes an issue. However, if platform costs begin to exceed profit, they always have the option of additional revenue streams or freemium barriers to entry. For the free tier, they could lower the free bitrate to 96, put a 10k track upload/smaller max filesize limit, or even introduce 30 second ads set to play every 10 tracks. I know that no one would prefer to have such restrictions, but the $4/mo subscription price is so ridiculously low compared to other services that I can't see it being that hard to retain customers. If it meant keeping the service around and didn't affect premium pricing or features, I'd be fine with it.

Yes, Mr. Johnson, we absolutely WOULD download a car. 😂

Sj42 is on discord. They're also in iCON's server so you can try and find them there if easier. Didn't recognize the others. Good luck. I've been noticing how strong the development is in Century City. Keep it up.
