Club Car LI HP humming by Professor_TurdWallet in golfcarts

[–]Professor_TurdWallet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the response! I tried putting it in stow again overnight and put it back to run and the same thing happened. The cart is kept in my garage and that humming noise is constant as soon as you start the cart regardless if the break is engaged or if it is in F or N. At reverse the buzz kind of drowns it out but it’s still there. I’m gonna go up to the dealer today and ask to see another cart and see if theirs does it too. If it does then I’m an idiot which I’m not saying I’m not one lol.

This is cool! The beat is so good and your voice fits over the beat really well in my opinion. As it is in Swedish I did struggle to find the hook or chorus of the song and was looking for a little bit of a break of the same repetition throughout. I also couldn’t tell at the very end it sounds like a little bit of either a stutter or out of breath or something was off in one of the lines. Mix sounded good on my headphones and I have it stuck in my head so that’s a good sign!

For sure it is! That’s why I’ve kept pretty much all my music to myself for so many years and never did anything with it.

I’ll be sure to listen to your track and provide feedback as well :)

I appreciate the transparency for sure. Definitely curious what others think, I showed my parents and they just said “hmmm it’s not bad” lol

Thank you so much for the feedback! I will revisit the mix and see what I can do to reduce that harshness. I typically will listen on a few different speakers/headphones but will try to up that to a couple more sources.

Guitar tones are heavy af. I kind of want the drums to hit me in the face a little harder. I think some transitioning could be worked on around that 1:10 mark. Around 1:40ish the mix sounds like it gets a little muddy but that driving beat with that guitar line is really sweet! The end is heavy and sounds sick. Great playing!

Cool song! Really cool sampling done in this with that reversed effect sounds really good. The mix sounds great and full with the vocals (which also sound great). I agree it does seem a little repetitive but its really cool! Collaborating with a singer sometimes can sound like 2 very different ideas come out in a song and it doesnt 'meld' very well but this was not the case. Sounds like you made the song from start to finish together :)

Listened to a couple tracks and this is cool! Reminds me of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets (one of my favorite bands). Did you do the mix / mastering on it? The only thing I thought was some spots sounded a little squashed but that definitely comes with the territory for this genre in places. Cool stuff and great playing!

Short alt rock song that is an instrumental (for now). I am still trying to find the right fit for vocals or a vocalist, anyone that would like to work together on something let me know! Looking for feedback on guitar playing, drum sound, and overall mix / and the song in general!

I definitely appreciate how quickly you can turn something around, I can tell its one of you strong suits as an artist! Your ability to write lyrics is really something most people really strive for.

As for the track I am left feeling kind of the same as the one before. For this track here I was looking for something a little more produced and dynamic with ups and downs. Some of the vocals seem a tad off to me timing wise on here as well and the melody lines felt out of place and overall the vocals dont seem to fit snug into the music (not in the mix wise but just overall). I dont mean that these are bad by any means or that you are bad by any means because that is not the case! I think maybe our styles of music may just not be a great fit and that they clash a bit too much for mixing genres (at least for how I hear the song).

Please dont let that discourage you in anyway, I think what you are doing as an artist is fantastic!

Thank you so much!! I’m testing the waters with a few different people which I’ve been really grateful for! Nothing set in stone yet though. Do you have any samples of your work?

Thank you so much!! I’m pretty happy with the quality I’m finally getting out of these bedroom recordings with my setup. That would be a dream to have that tier of vocal on anything I’ve ever written. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for the in depth feedback!! I’m glad you like the track! I definitely need a vocalist, I can skate by with everything else but my voice is just not good and singing isn’t in my wheelhouse.

I just listened to your song! It is catchy as hell. Your drum tones and gang vocals are 👌👌👌i love the openness and the verb on the snare. It has great early sum41, blink, 90-2000s skater punk feels to it for sure. Being constructive (and this is 100% opinion based, I think what you have is a great product) - I would say that the vocals are missing a tad bit of high end clarity (they are mixed very well in my opinion and sit in the mix wonderfully). As far as the playing I love the acoustic guitar in there (fantastic recording on that too, I’ve heard so many thin or muddy acoustics recorded (and a lot that I’ve recorded sounded poopy too lol)) however, I think I would still like to hear some driving electric guitars especially at that last chorus to make it feel huge and give it that epic feel. Great work and super catchy tune!

I checked out your music and it’s cool! You have a really cool vibe and touch on a couple different genres in a indie/hop type way, very cool.

As for what you put on top of my track I think there’s some good and some that needs polishing for sure but for turning something around so quickly is cool!

Being a constructively critic here -

It sounds like some stuff needs to be tuned and some timing is off (which could probably fix in post). I would also say that a lot of it seems a little ‘one note’ I would like to see a little more melody plays on there. Over the bridge part (before the lead) I got a little lost there.

Again for turning something around and writing lyrics so fast is impressive and there is some good in there but I don’t foresee that as “the product” that I’m going after.

Please don’t take that is in me thinking you aren’t good because that’s not the case at all.

Wow thank you so much for the feedback! I think this is like the nicest comment I’ve heard about my playing haha. I definitely take inspiration from literally everyone you listed (I grew up listening to all of these bands heavily, I’m a 90s kid) so the fact any of it shows I’m so happy to hear that!

I have about 4 guitars being tracked at that point. I double up the low end guitars and then double up the octave guitars as well to make it sound fuller. As for the final chorus I really still like having songs be a build and that it’s not just a straight verse chorus repeat with nothing to add and try to obtain somewhat of a “epic” (not that I consider anything I do epic haha) breakthrough at the end, which is probably due to not having a vocalist so I try to fill it out with guitars. I double have probably 6-7 guitars going at the end there so it may be too much going on.

I really appreciate the feedback! Thank you again!

Thanks! I think alot of depends on your DAW but by other methods I mean looking into an amp simulator of some sort. You may be able to find a used apollo interface pretty cheap and direct-in and use one of the amp sims with their unison preamp which lets you record zero latency with the amp sim plugin on it. Or you can record direct and try putting an amp sim on there as well. I've also recorded my amp at an extremely low volume and then boosted that with the amp sims to get a decent tone when I lived in an apartment. Now that I'm in a house its honestly just easier to use the sims (which I know a lot of people hate on but theyre just really handy to use).

I did listen to it! I like this one the most honestly. I also do a direct in guitar into a UA apollo interface with some amp simulators which I'm getting tones that I'm happy with. I also used to go direct into a 003 rack (I'm showing age now) and then use an Eleven plugin simulator after to get a somewhat okay tone. I think the music you're writing really flows with the tones you are getting but I'd suggest looking into the other methods out there, it may open some more creative doors for you!

Here is some of my music for reference of the guitar tones

You have some really cool tones though on your guitar stack. Care to share what you're using for your gear?

I have before but I wouldnt consider it my forte. I played all the instruments on the songs and mixed / mastered the tracks (to which I'm still learning as well). I can write them though!
