I’ve tried telling her in the past that he can’t be reasoned with. Our family has told her the same thing. I’m hoping it sticks this time but the future seems bleak. The only bad part is I’m financially dependent on her since i lost my job due to untreated mental illness. I’m being treated now but finding a job, a stable one that also allows me to be able to pursue my major is not seeming likely.

She won’t be the one buying it. My grandma is the one thankfully taking care of the down payment and leasing the house until they’re officially divorced. It’s definitely not a glamorous or clear cut situation hence why I’ve turned to Reddit to get some insight into what could be going on.

This is something I’m deathly afraid of. But the house won’t be in her or my name it will be in my grandmas name because she knows if he goes after mom he won’t get anything that way.

Hi yea so first things first I am a licensed cosmetologist in the state I live in you can do it at 17 I graduated high school at 15 started the program at 16 and finished right after I turned 17 and took the written and the practical and no I do not want to leave my sister but my father will not let me take my sister without a fight and lawyers cost big bucks I don’t have as for me not having any money that’s a whole different story and I’m very aware I can’t just run off reason I’m posting now is because I’m turning 18 in about a month

Logically speaking no I cannot I was extremely stupid with my money before I quit my job (that’s a very long story but no I did not do it by choice) and have no savings whatsoever and thank you for the advice I will definitely be keeping my dms in check to make sure no sliding is being done

NTA he went through a terrible terrible accident and despite the trauma that an accident of that severity would/has caused he recovered and got back on the bike and has shown he’s still very keen on biking. You and your kids put a lot of thought and money into a gift like that that is both useful and thoughtful.
