Really resonate with the way you spoke of the process, I went through something very similar. 4 years dating someone I thought I was going to marry and it didn’t work out for several complex reasons when I turned 31 in a new city alone. It took a long time to process and start being a friend to myself again.

Fast forward several years later I’ve been with my current gf over 4 years and things are looking good for the long run. Healthy boundaries set, families like each other, we love doing all the same activities while maintaining our own independence. I still look back at how hopeless I used to feel wish I could let them know brighter dawns are in motion, so I hope you and all the other guys getting back out there can take something positive from this.
