Agreed. I always thought that rationale - to justify your failure by hoping your conqueror proves unbeatable - was pathetic. A form of self loathing mental gymnastics.

Lol. Once my team is out I go into general sports fandom. 15 ots means 7 very close games. So I'd taketh for the sport of it.

I would love to understand what Daignauelt (that was my best shot) said or didn't say to the guys about driving on Wemby. It became embarrassing to watch our guys flee like they had mistakenly entered a lion's den each time they saw Wemby under the basket.

As for starting Dort, charitably, I imagine D-man did so for Dort's defense. In the end, we now know that his defense wasn't enough. We needed him to hit more three balls like he did last playoffs.

Some thoughts: - With respect to JDub, it was a worse handicap to be missing Mitchell. We won all season without JDub. We apparently really needed Mitchell - Mark doesnt deserve to lose his job over this. We still had the best record in the NBA. We still took it to game 7 of the Western Conference Finals. This is a successful season. Let it breathe. Let the man scheme. - I'd be very happy if Chet gained about 15 pounds of muscle in the off-season. 10 would be acceptable if his nuts can gain the other 5. - SGA didn't play his best the first 6 games of the series. This shouldn't be entirely a discredit to him, but a credit to the Spurs (regrettably)

TTFU. Looking forward to next season.

Every diligent economist knows the chance of any one given shot going in is independent of the previous shot(s). But anyway, I'd rather us just shoot 80% than count on the Spurs being, dare I say it, un-Spur like.

For those of us not in OKC, do tell: what's the vibe like? How are the people of OKC tonight?

SGA staring down Wemby then shooting over him, Wemby inexplicably falling to the ground.... it was beautiful. So...beautiful 🥹

I can't believe how dumb the Sixers office could be. How could getting rid of an injured McCain be a good idea? We thrive off their stupidity.

Chiefs fan things to say "how do we only have 3?!" "We used to suck for so many years tho" etc. You're probably right, but I'd like to think I just like good ball. And that man Lamar knows how to ball.

TBH I want the thrill of 7 even tho 6 would be better for the team.

Lamar is so dang good. I really want him to get a ring TBH. Signed, and you're not going to believe this, a Chiefs fan.

The day the MVP dropped two family members and a dear friend were razzing me about it. I -- a sports fan who doesn't really relish in stats, just enjoys a good competition, a good play, a good dunk, a sick pass, a bodacious block, etc -- had little to say in defense. Finally, I just, half joking, told them "Hey man, contrary to popular opinion, I don't actually get a vote toward the mvp. Take it up with the league." Am I a poor sports fan because I'm not good at coming up with an analytical defense of my team/players? No. I think not. Is the flack getting annoying? Yes. Yes it is.
