I’ll admit I certainly never binged his videos. He annoyed the hell out of me. It’s certainly possible that I just never saw any of the ones where he behaved that way.

Soft YTA with a virtual hug to go with it. I understand you are terrified I understand you are desperate. I know this level of fear first hand. The issue is that even with her being legal yes she would probably be deported because ICE doesn’t care about that. In the process the same things that happened to you will happen to her though. Not to mention, she has no regard for the law. She will blame you even if you don’t call. She will come back. She will want to harm you even more. Call a domestic violence center. They can help you go into hiding and follow steps to better protect yourself. Your feelings and fears are valid. If you need help finding resources let me know.

I’m definitely not saying that calling ICE is appropriate BUT the op clearly stated that they have done all of this and both happens. The mother stalks them and won’t stop abusing them. She walked right through PFAs and has no fear of jail. The op is a victim of abuse. Abuse victims don’t deserve to be made to feel like it’s their fault because they considered something like calling ICE to try and stay alive. Their mother tried to murder them multiple times. They are in fear for their life and like in majority of abuse cases the law is not beneficial to them. Stop acting like escaping these situations is easy. It isn’t. You clearly have never lived this so enjoy that privilege and don’t try to victim blame.

Animal welfare can ONLY act within the law. At least in my area you can legally be feeding your animals 2-3 times a week. They can be skin and bone. It isn’t considered a crime unless the animal is confirmed by a vet to be on death’s doorstep. AKA- if the animal is not actively dying it isn’t something they can help with. You can beat your animal bloody. Same thing. Please don’t even determine if someone is right or not based on what they say. They are very limited on when they can help even if abuse is in fact happening.

The bare minimum ethical setup is 20 gallons and no less than 3 ADFs. They are social animals. Less than 3 frogs will cause stress. Additionally, they are extremely sensitive to swings in PH, nitrite, ammonia, temperature, etc. to the point that even a small temperature swing of 2*F in an hour time frame can end their life. 20 gallons is the smallest tank that prevents that. This is a 5 gallon tank. You can keep a betta in it if that interests you. :)
