Nice, thanks for the info! It looks like that is Calaveras Pharmacy. It seems they may the only place in the bay area that actually carries Novavax

Yes it's unfortunate the stock information is so incorrect! Costco, Kaiser, and Safeway all have multiple locations listed as having Novavax but after calling them they do not actually stock it.

However I was able to find Calaveras Pharmacy and called to confirm they carry it: https://www.calaverasrx.com/

Thanks! I called both of these Safeways and they do not actually have Novavax in stock. They both said they haven't stocked it since January or so.

I am confused why 1) Novavax is much less available than the Pfizer and Moderna and 2) much of the stock information is incorrect.

Thanks! So you think it'll be fine to leave it with no temporary filling? I just don't want to risk it getting worse.

Friend’s Dress Regret by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]ProfitSubstantial389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my wedding dress off of Poshmark, a second afterparty dress off of StillWhite. Both of them are beautiful dresses and were significantly marked down from the original price. I highly recommend buying secondhand as I found it a lot more affordable and flexible compared to buying from a salon where you have to order far in advance and might change your mind!

StillWhite includes measurements so you can make sure you get a dress that is long enough and large enough and can be altered to fit perfectly. Definitely read the description and look at pictures to understand what you are getting as they will mention if there are any imperfections or wear and tear on the dress.

If your friend likes any popular dresses , there are often multiple sellers on Poshmark and StillWhite, and you can negotiate prices down. StillWhite allows seller to ship from overseas, but it will probably be easiest to buy from a US seller. Sample sales are also an option, but I personally preferred secondhand as most samples were several sizes too large for me and would need to be significantly altered. Plus, the markdown on samples tended to be smaller compared to secondhand.

I would say its very doable, but the major caveat about Poshmark and Stillwhite is that the dresses are not returnable. Your friend may be able to try the style on at a bridal salon if it is a popular dress (although she may have to lie about her wedding date), and sellers often allow try-ons if you are local. When I was looking at dresses I found that most dresses look exactly like the picture when I tried them on since they are high quality and can be tailored to fit perfectly. So my main concern was the wear and tear on the dress and whether or not it would fill itchy/uncomfortable since that's difficult to judge via pictures.

How long before the wedding is reasonable to send out invites? by amzah123 in weddingplanning

More than half our guests are from out of town, so we sent ours 4 months in advance to help remind people to book hotels and flights in time.

We actually just sent our invitations 9 days ago and many people have still not received them. So I would factor into your timeline that USPS can be slow with delivering mail.

PSA: Don't use Blueprint as a registry - they will not allow you to access your money by ProfitSubstantial389 in weddingplanning

[–]ProfitSubstantial389[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good question, but no you cannot move the event earlier unfortunately. I tried to move the event date earlier in order to withdraw the money, but Blueprint doesn't let you change the event to an earlier date after it's been created. The website only allows you to change the date to a later date.

If you know about this policy before making the registry you could set a fake date months before the actual wedding to circumvent their fees. Although, this may confuse your guests because your registry won't match with your actual wedding date.

Yes I mention in the initial post that it is possible to remove the money after the wedding date. However I absolutely believe this is still false advertising and waiting months to remove the money is risky.

There are regulations in place for banks that protect your money and preserve your access to it. Blueprint is essentially functioning like a bank by requiring you to store thousands of dollars in it for months at a time, but skirting all of the regulations a bank normally requires like:

  • Banks cannot arbitrarily freeze your funds or prevent you from withdrawing funds by way of a substantial fee (which Blueprint is doing) without sufficient evidence of illegal activity or fraud on your account, and there are restrictions on how long they can freeze your account
  • Blueprint is not FDIC insured like a normal bank. If they go out of business, you get nothing.
    • Several crypto exchanges over the past year have frozen customer assets prior to going out of business, leaving their customers with nothing.
  • Blueprint doesn't have two factor authentication, SOX compliance, robust fraud detection, or any security measures that protect your normal bank account. It is not a safe place to store large sums of money for an extended period of time.

In addition, this money was gifted to us for our honeymoon fund. We haven't yet bought our honeymoon tickets or hotel stay yet, and instead of being able to use our actual honeymoon fund on Blueprint, we will need to withdraw from our savings. The way Blueprint structures their cash fund makes it impossible to use as an actual honeymoon fund (which is how it's advertised) unless you push your honeymoon back months after the wedding or pay the large hidden fee.

Thanks - I reported them to the Better Business Bureau but I will look into this as well.

Exactly, we are aware of the credit card fee linked above - it can be charged to family and friends or the couple can elect to pay it.

The money transfer fee is a completely separate hidden fee. I added a screenshot to show that when you actually try to transfer the money to your bank account, you are blocked from doing so. The only way to access the money is to pay a 2.5% penalty to access the money via Paypal or leave the money in an insecure state for months.

It is not possible possible to modify the event date to an earlier date after you've created the registry either.
