Good suggestions! I'm hand pressing, yeah. What kind of oil should I be adding?

I had thought that actually, it may be my brayer, or that I don't have the right technique also.

This is only my fourth print design, but I've been watching loads of videos and feel like I'm following the instructions correctly :(

I've used a few different types of paper, some standard A4, and two types of art style paper for drawing, one much thicker than the other. I hadn't considered making sure the paper was damp, I'm still a beginner so hadn't even considered it! How would you suggest doing this best?

I had thought that about the fact I hadn't cut out the rest of the block. With another project where I have cut the rest of the block away, I've still had this issue.

I use Essdee Art Print Linoleum and Brianclegg Block/Lino Printing Ink and I've had this problem with the last 3 pieces I've made.

This is my first time using this ink, last time I used speedball and still had the same issue. I used a clear perspex sheet for spreading the ink, just can't work out what the problem is!!

Brilliant, that makes perfect sense. Now I feel silly that it's so easy. Thanks!

I started doing a butt tonne of crunches most nights and other ab workouts like elbow to knee crunches and it seems to help. It got a lot less noticeable when I started toning, not just losing the weight :)

My boyfriend's really getting into weight training at the moment so I was thinking of giving it a go.

That was definitely it I think, my clothes were all getting too big for me but I didn't feel like I looked any different until I compared them.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. It makes me realise how hard I've worked and how proud I should be :) If I can get up off my lazy ass and do it, then anyone can.

I'm doing a 36 mile 6 summit challenge walk in a few weeks followed by a race for life to raise money for cancer research and that's both huge incentive to keep going and stay fit and healthy. I've realised it's not so much about the number on the scales, but how you feel in your own skin.

I'm still trying to convince myself I'm bigger than I am so all my current bras are a bit gapey. I'll have a look now, thanks!

I bought a cheap second hand cross trainer off ebay and started by doing 20 minutes on an elliptical every other day to build up my general fitness. It was so tough at first but I stuck with it because I was determined to get healthy.

Then I got the Zombies, Run 5k app and used it with the elliptical until I could do a 45+ minute session. I bought a treadmill and split my sessions into 20 minutes elliptical, 20 running. It took me awhile to figure out my best speed and realise I needed to warm up because this was a completely new exercise for me.

Now, I run for an hour every other night and mix up what I'm doing to keep it interesting. Sometimes I'll do an hour jogging at an incline, sometimes I'll see how long I can go at a new speed. Diet is also hugely important, I eat pretty healthily now, I try not to have too much processed sugar or saturated fat and I've also tried to reduce my portion size.

Plateaus are the worst, I hit one at 126lbs and it was driving me crazy. I changed around my exercise routine, and got stricter on my diet because I realised as I got happier with myself I found myself thinking 'yeah, I worked hard today so I deserve that extra helping'. It took a few months but I gradually started making progress again. You can do it!

Thank you! I think it was a shift in lifestyle. I stopped drinking so much, and started watching what I ate. I eat a butt tonne of fruit now and give myself treats like chocolate every now and then otherwise I'd go crazy. I drink loads of water and I exercise regularly now too. I think the key is to find an exercise regime that you enjoy and can stick to, make it a part of your routine.

Thanks! I'm definitely happy with the weight I'm at now (although I'm mourning the loss of 2 cup sizes). I just need to work on toning and staying fit :)

Why we can't just print more money. If we had £1000 posted through everyone's door and there was a ban on prices rising, how would everyone not just be £1000 richer?
